STRENGTHEN YOUR BRETHREN

“ But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren” – Luke 22:32 Humanly speaking, I may not see the wisdom in depending on Apostle Peter anymore, I may just start to shop for another mentor or leader; but the Lord said ‘when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren’. It is necessary to state that, while the church may ‘pretend’ to accept you, Jesus would not pretend. One can easily assume that the Christian brother who just fell would be the weakest amongst the brethren; the leaders in the church will give that brother a longer time to find his feet or he may never even return to the point where he was before. When the leader stumbles, the hope of many will be dashed and they may lose confidence; but Jesus told Peter before the time, Peter who happened to be the leader – Jesus told Him that after his fall and return to Him, he (Peter) should strengthen the br...

WATCHMAN

“ Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore hear a word from My mouth, and give them warning from Me” – Ezekiel 3:17 The watchman is always the first to sight any danger, the watchman is always the first to notice strangers, the watchman is always awake on his duty post, the watchman is effective when his vision is clear, the watch is what the Lord has made you O minister. The watchman stays in the watchtower, far above where others are, the watchman is the one who communes with the Lord from above to see the threats or dangers that may lay siege to the kingdom. We are in the time where watchmen have abandoned their watchtowers; ministers have descended from the holy hill and are dining with men and don’t seem to be disturbed by several doctrines and wolves that have come in to take the sheep. The watchman has abandoned his duty post and put the soldiers at risk, he can’t endure the lonely nights at the tower; he can’...

AFTER THE MINISTRATION

"So he said, 'I have been very zealous for the LORD God of hosts; for the children of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, turn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I alone am left; and they seek to take my life." - 1Kings 19:10 What happened to all the fire and zeal prophet Elijah showed on Mount Carmel? After the Lord has enabled a minister to operate in such a powerful crusade; fearlessly he stood against an army of false prophets and prevailed - fire came down; one would have thought the event itself would have been self motivating for other challenges to follow. Prophet Elijah ran for his life at the threat of Queen Jezebel, the motivation just wasn't there anymore; the man even at some point lamented to God. It is possible that a minister will enter into a valley state after a ministration, it is possible that a minister would end a powerful ministration only to descend to real life issues that anointing seem not to cover. Loneliness wa...

INTRIGUES OF A LOVER

"But Saul had given Michal his daughter, David's wife, to Palti the son of Laish, who was from Gallim." - 1Sam 25:44 "So David sent messengers to Ishbosheth, Saul's son, saying, 'Give me my wife Michal, whom I betrothed to myself for a hundred foreskins of the Philistines." - 2Sam 3:14 After risking his life going to war just because of a princess, she was handed over to another person. The price he paid for her was too great to just let things be, he had showed the height of his love in order to call Michal his wife, how on earth will her father, king Saul betray him like that? How can he overlook that, the war he fought was also for the security of the nation Israel. David wasn't going to lie low on this, he wouldn't just forget the sacrifice; he wanted her and he insisted on her. The man whom they gave her to was weeping going after Michal; what is it about this lady that a man would be crying after, he didn't want her to go; but the o...

VOUCH FOR ME!

"For I have known him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of the LORD, to do righteousness and justice, that the LORD may bring to Abraham what He has spoken to him." - Gen 18:19 The Lord passed a vote of confidence on Abraham; He vouched for him; stating that Abraham was indeed a family man, who could rule over his household. It is possible that Abraham could have faltered on few things like fidelity to his wife, but on this matter of being the head; God could state unequivocally that this man indeed is a family man. Such vote of confidence came after years of Abraham walking with God; as the word used was 'known'; Abraham had earned God's trust on such matters. While Jesus came up from the water at His baptism; there was a voice from heaven that passed a vote of confidence on Jesus; God said, He has my love, my Son and I am indeed pleased with Him; for everyone who heard the voice that day, I want to...

DON'T GO THE SAME WAY YOU CAME

"But when the people of the land come before the LORD on the appointed feast days, whoever enters by way of the north gate to worship shall go out by way of the south gate; and whoever enters by way of the south gate shall go out by way of the north gate. He shall not return by way of the gate through which he came, but shall go out through the opposite gate." - Ezekiel 46:9 Men who are perverse shouldn't come to worship and leave the same way. The introductory scripture is just symbolic to what is expected of us when we worship. If a man comes with a heart of stone, he should leave with a heart of flesh, convicted and remorse of his sinful life. Ministers must ensure that those who come to worship must leave the opposite way. Several times carnal men have entered through the church gate and they returned more carnal than they were, curious minds have entered through the gates of the church only to return more skeptical than they ever were. On that day when the worst ...

PRETENCE OF WORSHIP

"And he sent them to Bethlehem and said, 'Go and search carefully for the young Child, and when you have found Him, bring back word to me, that I may come and worship Him also.'". - Matt 2:8 Looking at how people troop into the place of worship; one may be deceived to think everyone has come to worship in Spirit and in Truth. Some have indeed come in flesh and deceit, and out of curiosity to slander the preacher and find fault. They have carefully dressed to give false worship. It is not everyone who comes to church that is a worshipper; the loudest of hallelujah from that individual can turn to be the harshest of criticism. Over the years many have confused church attendance for worship, many have confused church work for deep relationship, many have confused membership for salvation and many are still lost in the midst of grace; not knowing whom they serve, no effect of worship. The worst of it all is that they are not a bit uncomfortable; they cherish such cold...

RULES FOR THE RACE

"And also if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules." - 2Tim 2:5 You may be the first, it may look as if you are running through the tracks at the speed of light, many may be in the stands cheering and admiring you to be the fastest, you are adored by both young and old, they think you are the world's greatest. That is how the world responds naturally, and all these boost our egos and we want to break more records, we want to be talked about everywhere. It is important for the Christian to know and reflect deeply that in the Christian race, the race is not really unto the swift; if it takes you fifty years to understand the rules, God is not moved - He judges by how much you have observed the rules. He is not moved by those who cheer, He is not moved by how many people you inspire; you just won't be crowed if you break the rules. While it may take sometimes for WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) to catch an athl...

DO NOT BE DECEIVED

"For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See I have told you beforehand." - Matt 24:24-25 Even if everything changes and noon becomes day and night becomes noon; there are some things that will never change, though different cultures are evolving, and innovations springing, though knowledge increases and wars abound; the elect of God must not be deceived to believe that which is contrary to what our Master, Jesus had told us. As such a time like this, the Elect of God must buy the truth and sell it not, no matter the event of life. We have the tasted word of faith, we have beheld the glory of the only begotten, our very lives are full of evidences of God's graciousness, we have inner witnesses and the reality of His words have been proven over time; why will a new trend deceive you? This solemn instruction or warning is relevant for this day, some things that have been tested and truste...
