DEN OF THIEVES, HARLOTS & OUTLAWS

"And He said to them, 'It is written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer,' but you have made it a 'den of thieves.''" - Matt 21:13 After Jesus resisted these thieves, the scriptures clearly states that; the blind and the lame came into the church and He healed them. We would be robbing ourselves of the supernatural when we keep being hospitable to those who should be outcast, we rob ourselves of divinity when we make the church of God business as usual. How did we become so comfortable with these thieves who continue to steal our bread (healing is the children's bread). Can I also state that because these thieves were available, it seem that the temple will thrive economically, offerings and tithes will be much and of course at this time - 'the Lord is good', but if we let the thief stay, we would all be dead spiritually. This is the sorry state of the church! These men were carrying out legitimate business in the house of Go...

REVERSE?

"Indeed before the day was, I am He; and there is no one who can deliver out of My hand; I work, and who will reverse it?'" - Isaiah 43:13 It is a problem when a car's reverse gear isn't working, it will be a source of concern to the driver and a quick solution will have to be found. Surely there are certain things in life that may not be easily reversed. An acid test is a risk to whoever it is tried on - the reaction may just be irreversible. Let it also be known this day, that no one can reverse the works of God except by Himself. He only can decide to reverse His work, if the Lord promised to bring doom on a person, He can reverse it, if He promised to do good unto a person - He Himself can reverse too. There is no one who can speak and it comes to pass if the Lord has not commanded it. For someone reading this piece today, reversal by God may  have occurred in your life - it is possible that you who was once promising with so much potentials for exploits...

THIS MOTHER-IN-LAW

"Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh." - Gen 2:24 It is very possible for a man to leave his father, but most men will never leave their mother. Though they gain independence and move into their own apartments, most of them will always measure their wife's capabilities by their mother's. For some men, taking a wife will only be subject to their mother's approval - if the mother says no - then it will be a no for the lady. Sometimes, a woman has to continually live under the pressure of becoming like her mother-in-law; and this may just be selfish from the man. So, king Jehoram of Judah decided to take as a wife, the daughter of the Jezebel (2Kings 8:18). Sometimes what your wife will be in future is what your mother-in-law is now, the scripture tells us that when he took the daughter of Ahab - he did evil in the sight of the Lord. It is difficult to cut the ties of a family completely....

TRAVEL LIGHT

"And He said to them, 'Take nothing for the journey, neither staffs nor bag nor bread nor money; and do not have two tunics apiece.'" - Luke 9:3 In the journey of life, to move unhindered, to go with speed and to be focused - one must be light as possible. Sometimes to the average mind, it will be an unreasonable risk to expose one self without an insurance or cover for the days that lies ahead. Taking nothing as Jesus instructed his disciples will appear as if they will have to be dependent on people for survival...but it is not. The man who has purpose before him will receive supply. Sometimes, travelling light will entail casting all our burdens upon Him, travelling light will entail sacrifice, travelling light sometimes will be painful - but the gain is more. The man who leaves all the burdens will eventually depend solely on the power of God for survival and when it turns out so - the man would have learnt to become solely dependent on God. Our families ...

WAITING FOR MR RIGHT

"But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept." - Matt 25:5 I know that the above scripture mainly talks about expecting Jesus who is the bridegroom of the church, but one cannot ignore the fact of relationship or be out of context if there are lessons to be learnt by singles from the above illustration. In fact, it would be injustice or so, to confine the profound lessons of the above illustration to just the second coming - when we can actually glean wisdom from it. When a female is 'ripe' for marriage, I use the word 'ripe' in the context of ready to marry, because it is the word we are accustom to in this part of the word. When a lady is ripe for marriage, there are many anxieties to the event, some features starts to play out from the woman, she becomes so expectant as she also have what she is looking out for in her would be husband - but while it is possible that she knows what she wants and that God may have revealed her pre...

END-TIME FEVER

"For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect." - Matt 24:24 When the matter of end-time is brought to the fore, many begin to worry and panic, some do not like matters such as this, they'd prefer the matter is left to God to decide, but we to whom it has been written to understand the times cannot just ignore the event in this present age...if we are indeed in the end-time, what does it mean for the believer and what should the unbeliever do also. It has been long since we started hearing about this end-time that has not ended, it appears that everything bad and tragic is a sign of the end time, yet in our minds, we are somehow preparing for the worse, we are advancing in technology and social life in order to absorb the shock of the absurdity of this present age...yet, the end time fever will just keep on ringing out to the discerning and as a warning to the erring soul. This words today, a...
