JUST SWALLOW THE NEEDLE

"And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." - Matt 19:24 When Jesus asked that rich man to sell all he has and give to the poor - He didn't in anyway imply that the cost of his salvation was his riches, but it is important to stress the nothingness of our wealth when compared to our salvation. Some see riches as a defence, they hang their whole existence on wealth and really, that is all that counts to them - they believe they can serve God well when they have riches. It is important for the rich man to know that the matter of your faith is between you and God - your wealth doesn't prove anything to God, as a matter of fact, He is the source of all true wealth. When you think your wealth places you on a better platform before God - you need to realise that you are seriously under serious illusions. Wealth is the least thing that moves a man to God, money isn't a factor in...

SHIBBOLETH

"The Gileadites seized the fords of the Jordan before the Ephramites arrived. And when any Ephramite who escaped said, 'Let me cross over,' the men of Gilead would say to him, 'Are you an Ephramite? If he said, 'No,' then they will say to him, 'then say, 'Shibboleth!' And he would say 'Sibboleth,' for he could not pronounce it right. Then they would take him and kill him at the fords of the Jordan. There fell at that time forty-two thousands Ephraimites." - Judges 12:5-6 I heard a report about the Ife and Modakeke crises, where a group would stop commuters on the way and in trying to identify their origin, they force them to make statements - this was done in order to ascertain their accents and that sure gives them away. How reliable this form of recognition is, I am  not certain, but I know that even technology has a place of speech recognition, like voice dial and voice commands. So, I bring to your attention this day, a kind of...

ALMOST THE OGA

"Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is a master of all but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father." - Gal 4:1-2 Dear friend, to be ambitious is not a sin - to aim for the top is an inherent phenomenon God placed in every man. Some have been refined, and they have learnt to submit to training of stewards and guardians before it pleases God to make them ogas. Some, even those in the faith are driven by carnality to aim for the top, they don't mind the strife, they don't care whether they lose their salvation - they just want to be oga (the boss). If a Christian cannot recognise that the way to greatness is from the bottom - meekness will be lost and strife will set in. They will please the flesh and will always be 'almost be the oga' but never the oga. The man who refuses to swallow his pride and serve, a man who will not surrender to constituted authority because ...

ONLY GOD UNDERSTANDS ME!

"O LORD, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thoughts afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, O LORD, You know it altogether." - Psalm 139:1-4 There comes a time in a man's life that, only him and God would understand the situations at hand. It is not because others will not see the issue - it's just that; they will never be able to adequately help you or even express your innermost troubles or feelings. In the dark or in the midst of the crowd, one can be seated just in the world of his or her own. It could be that you are making supplications in your heart to God, or you may just be there in depression - it may also be that you can't even figure out what is right or wrong with you - yet, at this time only God can understand the deepest turmoil of your confused soul or maybe your excited state. When t...
