ALMOST THE OGA

"Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is a master of all but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father." - Gal 4:1-2

Dear friend, to be ambitious is not a sin - to aim for the top is an inherent phenomenon God placed in every man. Some have been refined, and they have learnt to submit to training of stewards and guardians before it pleases God to make them ogas. Some, even those in the faith are driven by carnality to aim for the top, they don't mind the strife, they don't care whether they lose their salvation - they just want to be oga (the boss).

If a Christian cannot recognise that the way to greatness is from the bottom - meekness will be lost and strife will set in. They will please the flesh and will always be 'almost be the oga' but never the oga. The man who refuses to swallow his pride and serve, a man who will not surrender to constituted authority because of his superior qualifications - such a man will always be 'almost be the oga'.

When a man also proclaims himself as the boss, let him be aware that he can still be in the class of 'almost the oga'; there is no authority without God and God remains the Supreme oga, He enthrones and dethrones as He wills - so oga sir, don't become unnecessarily proud of what is not certain. The man who thinks he is oga too should always watch his back, because there could be a 'coup' from that man who is 'almost the oga'. Please, recognise that, only God enthrones and keeps a man at the top - what you think made you oga today can become irrelevant or obsolete in few years.

And for that man who is due for a promotion but has never been given - because of those who are against you - you've become frustrated because, though you are always the brain behind everything but you are always 'almost the oga'. They refuse to recognise you maybe because of your background or because you are not certified; though you possess all the spiritual gifts yet promotion seem to elude you - it can be frustrating if such a man does not have direction. But, in the kingdom, even though we may be called least - God could see us as top, though we may be denied our positions by men, God knows how to make a man come from obscurity and make the man an oga.

I write this piece today to open our eyes to some spiritual truth as regards ambition. I am more driven by a need to help us curb unhealthy ambition and to also for that boss to allow God be His oga. Please, this piece will refer to habits and also our spiritual state - I know you are an oga, I pray you find meekness to learn.

POSITION IS NOT 'OGASHIP'
"For you have said in your heart: 'I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.'" - Isaiah 14:13-14

It seems like Mr Lucifer didn't like the fact that he was the head and son of the morning. He wanted more than just to be a boss, he wanted to overthrow God. He must have been high on weed to desire to be the Most High, but, the truth remains that Lucifer had an oga, and I am not just saying God - I am referring to that which was and still reside in his heart - pride!

That which seem to conquer an individual is the boss. Pride was what dominated Satan's heart and that was what controlled him. Though he was an angel, yet carnality ruled his heart - he wasn't conquered by the fruits of the spirit - no! It was pride that was the boss of this man. You may be a managing director, yet lust rule your heart - you may be the fellowship president yet masturbation orders you around in the bathroom - hello ma, you think you are in control, yet the boss of your life is anger and jealousy - you are not the oga yet. You are almost the oga.

If the right things do not conquer a spiritual man's old nature - he will continue to be a slave to sin. You may sound intelligent and appear all good on the outside - but I know that it is your boss, that oga alcoholic spirit, that sits in the drivers seat. Please, quickly do a quick appraisal of your life. What is it that dominates you? What is it that is in control of your heart - if it doesn't come from God, then you will always strife to be the boss contrary to God's will - it is only dethronement that such a thing will lead to.

"So when all the land of Egypt was famished, the people cried to Pharaoh for bread. Then Pharaoh said to all the Egyptians, 'Go to Joseph; whatever he says to you, do.'" - Gen 41:55

Let the man who is in charge not become so pompous to think he is an island, while things may be going on right, it may not necessarily be because you know everything as the oga - the moment you become proud, the real oga will be pronounced. Let everyone understand that capacity in leadership cannot also be overlooked - when Egypt was famished, they went to the one who has positional leadership and discovered that he couldn't help - Joseph who was 'almost the oga' - was used of God.

You may be an heir to a throne or the son of a managing director - if you lack the capacity, your position will always be under constant threat. Even if you have all the wealth in the world like the Nigerian politicians, you will still be insecure because intellect will always override  'wealthy mediocrity'. Thank God that Joseph understood his role, he was humble enough to lead from behind - he didn't need a the position to be a leader and the lack of this knowledge is the bane of the society today.

Saul was still on the throne, yet Israel knew who the boss was - one of the very clear signs that a leader is merely positional is insecurity on his or her part. When God dethrones a man because of the oga of the heart - he becomes insecure and an enemy to the new oga. Be humble even in competence - yes, allow humility be the oga of your heart so that you will be 'almost the oga' only to God.

WHO BORN YOU?
"But Abram said, 'Lord GOD, what will You give me, seeing that I go childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?' Then Abram said, 'Look, You have given me no offspring; indeed one born in my house is my heir'"  - Gen 15:2-3

If Eliezer had been within earshot when Abram said this, he would have been disappointed! He took Abram as his father, and felt adopted by this man - only to hear that, the man didn't consider him fit enough to be his heir. Eliezer's problem was not because he was a slave mentally, but because of who gave birth to him. He probably would have enjoyed Abram's wealth to a certain degree, but just because his father is a slave - he was a perpetual 'almost the oga' all his life.

Though you have all the things that make life comfortable, and it is possible you have the highest of degrees academically, if you think your wealth equals royalty or sonship you are just under illusion. It is only when a man is given birth to by royalty, that he becomes an heir - otherwise you will always be 'almost the oga' and never the oga. Until you are a child of God through the new birth you will just be a slave in the midst of plenty.

If you are a liar, then the devil is your father - you cannot be an heir of God. Don't be deceived, your source is important to the genuineness of your ogaship. Let it also be known that to be the child of God is the highest form of security one can have to be an oga - it overrides the earthly ogas. That Pharaoh of Egypt was born a leader, but when it was the time for the child of God to be enthroned - everyone understood who the real oga was.

"Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed, and said in his heart, 'Shall a child be born to a man who is hundred years old? And shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?' And Abraham said to God, 'Oh, that Ishmael might live before You!'" - Gen 17:17-18

In our quest to be oga, some of us act 'smart', manipulate processes and bring it before God for a sanctification. This was the 'smart' game Abraham tried to play so that he could have an heir. He decided to sleep with a slave woman, after all Ishmael is from his loins...but God rejected him and Ishmael was 'almost an oga' all his life. You can't expect God to sanctify crookedness, you will just be wasting time. Some of us would cheat the process and pass an exam, and maybe expect to be an oga. The truth is that; if the process is born out of carnality or the flesh, it cannot be sanctified by the spirit!

So, adultery was the thing for Abraham, he presented this Ishmael to God for an heir, yet God understood that even though Abraham was truly the father, adultery was the origin. The question of who gave birth to you will always arise till you are born of God! It is he that is born of God that overcomes; not he who is born of the parent; they had even this Abraham as their father yet they couldn't obtain!

Even if you become an oga by crooked means; God only has to make the oga rise to full potentials and you will be displaced prematurely. Don't forget that the opening text states that, the heir because he is a child is under the training of guardians...don't be too comfortable because you as a fornicator is a lead singer in church - the heir will soon be of age. Sarah didn't even waste time in sending slave Hagar and her son out of her house when she got pregnant. Don't accept manipulations too...be born of God in your quest to be oga.

YOU WILL BE OGA!
"And the LORD will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you today, and be careful to observe them." - Deut 28:13

The truth is that God intends to make you an oga, it is a kingdom principle that; kingdom citizens who are of the new birth and remain so, should be ogas. How you become an oga is totally dependent on you; it is dependent on your compliance with kingdom commandments - it depends on how much of God you want, it depends on how much you are willing to sacrifice to become an oga.

The child of the kingdom too will do well to understand that, it is not the world's standard that makes him or her oga, sometimes all the world cares about is positional leadership which always seem to lord it over those below them. But the kingdom way is different, the oga in the kingdom is the servant of all; he is the one who has become lowly yet great in spiritual feats. In fact, the least in the face of men can be the oga as far as God is concerned.

The man of the kingdom may be qualified in relevant fields but will refuse the oga of the heart to be pride, such a man of the kingdom will allow humility and the fruits of the spirit be the oga of the heart so that he will not be dethroned. More so, a man of the kingdom will constantly see Jesus as the master - that is greatness in itself. The man who doesn't know his boss is in for a lot of trouble, if you don't recognise Jesus as Lord then there is a problem.

"The LORD makes poor and makes rich; He brings low and lifts up. He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the beggar from ash heap, to set them among princes and make them inherit the throne of glory. 'For the pillars of the earth are the LORD'S, And He has set the world upon them.'" - 1Sam 2:7-8

It is of the father's goodwill to give us the kingdom, why strife and become carnal to be oga? Why kill like men of the world just to claim a position, you are already from above, if you settle under the kingship of God; you will be exalted in due time. Absalom wanted to be oga so, he schemed to have David his father overthrown; but you must understand as it was in the case of king David, that the one whom God has enthroned cannot be dethroned.

Stay confident in Him who has said you are the head, be steadfast in the principles that establishes a man and don't become insecure because some people are ogas - remember the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over themselves. Moreover, if you decree and it is established, if you bind on earth and it is bound in heaven - why then are you struggling for position as if that is what validates you enthronement, the things you do in the supernatural already does validate. Do not fret.

Maybe you have been denied your rightful position over time and you are really discouraged; you may have even suffered demotion just because you decided to stick with God on His principles - be encouraged because like Joseph, something will happen and they will have no choice than to promote you...it is all in due time. Mordecai was denied his reward for helping the king expose a coup - his reward was delayed because the position God intended for him wasn't vacant as at then - but when it was vacant, a gateman at night became a chief in the morning. Believe, if God is your oga - you will be oga.

CONCLUSION:
Ambition is good; but when it is not channelled right, such a person will be a slave. New birth is important for leadership - then humility and sticking to kingdom principles enthrones a man according to God's will.

God bless you and I love you.
