COLLECT YOUR ‘CHANGE’

“For surely there is a hereafter, and your hope will not be cut off” – Prov 23:18 Anyone who says he has faith must have an expectation; faith has substance and though it is not something that we touch, yet faith makes the invisible things visible, faith at work, produces! ‘Change’ in the Nigerian parlance primarily deals with the balance one collects after making payment with higher denominations. Therefore, it is in the light of this context that I bring this message to you. By the leading of the Holy Spirit, I have decided to draw a correlation between the Lagos bus conductor and you, who may have at different times, paid the conductor and you expect your ‘change’. You don’t beg for your change, it’s something you expect and all things being equal, you will leave with what is rightfully yours. Even when the conductor seem not to have change, once you have boarded the bus; you’re to a large extent sure that he will find th...

EVIDENCE OF VIRGINITY

“ I f any man takes a wife and goes in to her, and detests her, and charges her with shameful conduct, and brings a bad name on her, and says, ‘I took this woman, and when I came to her I found she was not a virgin, then the father and mother of the young woman shall take and bring out the evidence of the young woman’s virginity to the elders of the city at the gate…” Deuteronomy 22:13-15 I know for now that only a certified gynecologist can adequately prove if a young girl is still a virgin or not, and the gynecologist has laid down procedures to check the innocence of a lady. All other forms of checking, maybe like the disposition or appearance is not adequate scientifically and anyone can be wrong. The gynecologist knows and can tell if the hymen is broken or still intact. Most times, these things are done in the event of sexual abuse. In the Old Testament, it is possible that a man marries a young girl whose hymen is intact yet she is not a novice at...

CITY OF REFUGE

“Then you shall appoint cities to be cities of refuge for you, that the manslayer who kills any person accidentally may flee there” – Numbers 35:11 If an accident occurs between two vehicles and it results in the death of one of the passengers in one of the vehicles; it is most likely that the driver who caused the accident would not be allowed to go; if the driver isn’t drunk and maybe the accident even occurred as a result of a bad road or some negligence of the government; the person who ‘caused’ the accident (the person driving); would be accused of murder. No one will excuse him or her, they would just say things and before anything whatsoever, the driver has landed in prison and such is the way things have turned out in our days. The city of refuge was God’s bailout to anyone who committed manslaughter or killed as a result of self-defense; the city of refuge was the escape route so as not to die undeservedly due...

STRENGTHEN YOUR BRETHREN

“ But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren” – Luke 22:32 Humanly speaking, I may not see the wisdom in depending on Apostle Peter anymore, I may just start to shop for another mentor or leader; but the Lord said ‘when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren’. It is necessary to state that, while the church may ‘pretend’ to accept you, Jesus would not pretend. One can easily assume that the Christian brother who just fell would be the weakest amongst the brethren; the leaders in the church will give that brother a longer time to find his feet or he may never even return to the point where he was before. When the leader stumbles, the hope of many will be dashed and they may lose confidence; but Jesus told Peter before the time, Peter who happened to be the leader – Jesus told Him that after his fall and return to Him, he (Peter) should strengthen the br...

WATCHMAN

“ Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore hear a word from My mouth, and give them warning from Me” – Ezekiel 3:17 The watchman is always the first to sight any danger, the watchman is always the first to notice strangers, the watchman is always awake on his duty post, the watchman is effective when his vision is clear, the watch is what the Lord has made you O minister. The watchman stays in the watchtower, far above where others are, the watchman is the one who communes with the Lord from above to see the threats or dangers that may lay siege to the kingdom. We are in the time where watchmen have abandoned their watchtowers; ministers have descended from the holy hill and are dining with men and don’t seem to be disturbed by several doctrines and wolves that have come in to take the sheep. The watchman has abandoned his duty post and put the soldiers at risk, he can’t endure the lonely nights at the tower; he can’...

AFTER THE MINISTRATION

"So he said, 'I have been very zealous for the LORD God of hosts; for the children of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, turn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I alone am left; and they seek to take my life." - 1Kings 19:10 What happened to all the fire and zeal prophet Elijah showed on Mount Carmel? After the Lord has enabled a minister to operate in such a powerful crusade; fearlessly he stood against an army of false prophets and prevailed - fire came down; one would have thought the event itself would have been self motivating for other challenges to follow. Prophet Elijah ran for his life at the threat of Queen Jezebel, the motivation just wasn't there anymore; the man even at some point lamented to God. It is possible that a minister will enter into a valley state after a ministration, it is possible that a minister would end a powerful ministration only to descend to real life issues that anointing seem not to cover. Loneliness wa...

INTRIGUES OF A LOVER

"But Saul had given Michal his daughter, David's wife, to Palti the son of Laish, who was from Gallim." - 1Sam 25:44 "So David sent messengers to Ishbosheth, Saul's son, saying, 'Give me my wife Michal, whom I betrothed to myself for a hundred foreskins of the Philistines." - 2Sam 3:14 After risking his life going to war just because of a princess, she was handed over to another person. The price he paid for her was too great to just let things be, he had showed the height of his love in order to call Michal his wife, how on earth will her father, king Saul betray him like that? How can he overlook that, the war he fought was also for the security of the nation Israel. David wasn't going to lie low on this, he wouldn't just forget the sacrifice; he wanted her and he insisted on her. The man whom they gave her to was weeping going after Michal; what is it about this lady that a man would be crying after, he didn't want her to go; but the o...
