THE GRAY-HEADED

"The glory of young men is their strength, and the splendor of old men is their gray head." - Prov 20:29 To despise the old is to lack footprints and even footpaths, the young who refuses to see the relevance of the old will wander in the wilderness of life, it is not a crime to be old, in fact, it is a blessing we often pray for; but everyone suddenly think the old is meant for care and death. Whether literate or otherwise, the old amongst us aren't all useless. The role of the elders in the scriptures will help the discerning to understand that, there are treasures in these fragile people, in fact, the scripture tells of some certain twenty-four elder who constantly bow to the Father in adoration. If you have elders around you, who have lived a good life - there you can tap into the fountain of experiences, either to avoid wrong paths or to follow through. One of the things that surprises me about the youths, is a quick longing for new order, we do not want to bel...

WORD REGULATION

"Who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high." - Heb 1:3 Everything natural and even supernatural are all rooted and made firm in the Word that is from the beginning. It is the Word in action that results in power; if the Word does not trigger a manifestation; such a minister becomes an accidental performer. When Elijah made a proclamation in the old testament stating confidently that; 'at my word', such a statement might sound of of place, but He spoke with the authority of heaven - and such held firm, the scripture tells us that we shall decree, a decree was what Elijah made in accordance to heaven's approval. There can be no power without the word, to demonstrate power without understanding the word, is to be prone to errors and become a master of confusion. Nothing is more dangerous th...

BE STEADFAST

"Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labour is not in vain in the Lord." - 1Cor 15:58 The concept of steadfastness in the scripture deals with consistency and this is lacking in the faith today. Many people's consistency is dependent on gain and applause, if there is no attention - they will suddenly develop another passion or calling. Today you have a ministry in music and tomorrow you discover that you also can preach the word; then you start with the children and discovered that you have had a missed call on that, and that you were just called to be a believer sitting in the congregation and worshipping. I am being nice today stating that it is inconsistency, but the truth is that you are also confused. There are too many inconsistent people today; anyone who is inconsistent will be directionless in life, anyone who has passion for something and not consistent in a given assignment w...

MISSING IN ACTION

"For it is written in the Book of Psalms: 'Let his dwelling place be obsolete, and let no one live in it', and 'Let another take his office.'" - Acts 1:20 The duties of heaven does not permit undue absenteeism, if you have not been called home to heaven, then there is no reason why you shouldn't be at your duty post or even in fellowship. The matter here is not just attendance, but that of fellowship and responsibility. When a man who is suppose to be active for God is suddenly missing in action; then something is wrong. I used to know that brother, who was an inspiration to many upcoming youths at a certain time; and I knew how he led prayers and inspired the move of the spirit in no small measure...suddenly, we heard news that during his service year he got married to one lady in the fellowship. We were suppose to rejoice over this, but it turned out that the brother fell by the sin of fornication and we now know the true reason he is missing in acti...

ENDORSEMENT

"For I have known him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of the LORD, to do righteousness and justice, that the LORD may bring to Abraham what He has spoken to him." - Gen 18:19 A man whom God endorses will have heaven's backing in whatever he is doing. It takes a belief in someone's capability or a tested relationship over time, for a vote of confidence to be given. When the Lord attested to Abraham's faith, it was a prove of how much God believed in him. There are times when the believer desperately needs God to give him or her a vote of confidence, sometimes it may come from men but it may not be assuring or soothing; but once heaven attests to a man's faith or his ways - such a person has encountered grace at its peak. Moses was pleading to see the glory of God, when the Lord granted the request, God said, 'I know you by name, you have also found grace in My sight.' (Exo 33:12) Your ...

NOT AS THE WORLD GIVES

"Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." - John 14:27 The greatest need in the world right now is peace, the peace that Jesus offers is the perfect peace that is without suspicion or fear, the peace Jesus offers, surpasses all understanding. The peace Jesus offers does not exclude turmoil in the surrounding, but it is the peace that makes us at rest in the midst of the storm. Seeking peace goes beyond the absence of war, there are people who have never experienced war yet their soul is troubled, they are right in the face of the storms of life and their greatest need will be to find peace. When a man does not know peace - his life can not know progress. It is most times a lack of peace on the inside that causes unrest on the outside. A troubled mind may become violent or weary, many times what the Lord does to that believer who is in despair is to speak peace int...

THE ALTAR CALL

"Again He designates a certain day, saying in David, 'Today,' after such a long time, as it has been said: 'Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.'" - Heb 4:7 God cannot lie, your refusal to come out after that altar call for salvation does not make the minister a liar; more often than not, it is those with harden hearts, that fill the pews of the church. They know the matter is about them yet, they say within themselves 'another time'. They refuse to see the opportunity that is laid before them, some erroneously think they are doing the pastor a favour. I do not believe that everyone in church is saved, I may be wrong but the continuous contentions and manifestation of the flesh in the church has made me to hold on to my conviction, that altar calls are still needed in the church. Tongue speaking brethren still lie, they still get entangled with masturbation and everyday, their strength fail...there is a need to still make a...

THE KINGDOM LABOURER

"In all labour there is profit, but idle chatter leads to poverty." - Prov 14:23 To that person who continually labour in evangelism, prayers, studying and teaching the Word, it looks as if you don't have a career, and that you are frustrated; and that is why you have chosen to do God's work full time - the Lord recognises your service. In fact, your labour is without glamour and it looks as if you have made a mistake. Dearly beloved; in all labour there is profit! A labourer for the harvest is what the Lord demanded for, He asked us to pray that you agree to the work. The work of the kingdom is not a 'white-collar' job so to speak. It is a combination of white-collar and also the manual all in one. The man who seats in the office for administration and counselling must be ready to hit the street, jump and join the bus with the gospel of the Lord. That labourer of the kingdom must be ready to suffer hunger to complete his work. Can God's work really ...

THE HAND OF GOD

"Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?" - Isaiah 53:1 The hand of the Lord can do many things, there is a spiritual significance to what the hand of the Lord does. We the creation are the works of His hands. It is by revelation that we understand the hand of God. If the hand of the Lord comes upon a person - it will surely perform, if the hand of the Lord is seen, it is a message to somebody. God uses His hand to deliver, to save, to create, to bless, to show mercies and many other mighty works. If the hand of the Lord is revealed unto a man - He sure must experience the work of God. When the Lord performs a miracle, the unbeliever is sure that, this is the finger of God. The hand of the Lord executes judgement. Every believer who is the work of His hands, must continually seek and court the hands of the Lord upon their lives. You can not get to certain spiritual realms except the hand of the Lord is strong upon you (Isaiah 40:1...
