THE BEST MAN
"He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom's voice. Therefore this joy of mine is fulfilled." - John 3:29 The above scripture tells of a best man who is greatly excited because of the wedding. The best man in this regard is not the one being joined with the bride, but his joy knows no bound. This may appear a little abnormal, but I believe that there is something the Lord is pointing us to in this matter. John the Baptist was giving an illustration of the best man in order to explain his own duties and his joy. He would have been nothing if the bridegroom didn't come, it is because there is a groom that the best man can attach any importance to himself, and this brought fulfillment to John the Baptist.
