BEYOND THE DISTANCE

"The LORD is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth." - Psalm 145:18

There are so many who think that distance is a factor when it comes to dealing with God; sometimes distance may be placed there in our minds, and sometimes it is placed there by tradition of religious activities. One would wonder how far God can be, when He is virtually in the consciousness of every created being. How close can He be, when our mouths can communicate to Him and we get quick response. The Lord cannot be restricted by distance, distance is no barrier to the LORD - He is Omnipresent.

It is true that sometimes a person could be far from God, but God can not be far from anyone who wants Him, there is no where you can hide from His spirit, even the night is as day unto the Lord; the distance you have created has to be closed again, you need to know that God is as close as you need Him to be.

There would be times when we have an emergency and we think God can only appear on one mountain or that, while this may be true in some cases, it is will do us good to recognise that the Word too can be near you - if truth gives you the platform of nearness, faith will cause the presence to do you good.

I need you to start paying attention to God, as He is in your heart, He is not a God afar off, all you need do is to call upon Him in truth. It is true that God appears more real to some people than others, it is true that some people carry the presence more surely; the only reason that is so, is because of the truth factor.

NO DISTANCE IN WORSHIP
"But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." - John 4:23-24

There would be a time when the voice will not be melodious, there would definitely be a time when you don't have the instrumentalist playing good sounds, and of course you would be alone thinking what would become of your worship. Worship is beyond the music, worship is a life first of all, and God worshippers must know that even when there is no music, our spirit can flow with the spirit of God in worship to Him, just by living that life of truth.

O the blessedness of the life of worship, it is doesn't always have to be among the brethren, it only has to be in spirit and in conformity with truth. This clears all distances that the jamboree people always consider, this just makes a heart close in worship and one is healed of everything that needs healing. Worship is not a song, no, it is the life dedicated to God in spirit and in truth.

Even when we go to church for a worship service, a person can be in that congregation yet far from God's presence, cooperate worship inspires wonders and help the body of Christ, but an encounter with God is a personal affair, so that our worship will not be dependent on people but on our ability to always stand in the truth and commune in the spirit.

"For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call." - Acts 2:39

Nothing brings a man closer to God more than His promised Holy Spirit; nothing keeps a man in worship more than the communion of the Spirit, nothing else can bring intimacy with God except by His Spirit - and this God is spirit. Not a kind of, no He is Spirit! The true definition and the true nature of the Almighty.

If you desire true worship, engage the Holy Spirit, He will crush every imagined and unimagined barrier - He will help your life spring worship to God, and if by chance or intentionally you express your worship in songs, the presence of God will fill the atmosphere and everyone will know it - this is how it works. Don't restrict true worship to places or methods of singing. Worship is first the life, then expressed through any means.

It will be of note at this point to let you know that the Father God is seeking such worshippers, when your life is a pleasant worship, you don't need to be trying hard to get God's attention, He Himself is seeking a person of such character, He Himself will pull closer to you. There is no method to it, just let the Spirit of truth guide your heart to worship.

NO DISTANCE IN EXERCISING FAITH
"But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." - Heb 11:6

Apart from the Spirit bringing us closer to God, there is a factor of faith that makes everything we get from fellowship come to be. There are many whom God had showed Himself to at a certain time and at different times, yet they have created a distance through unbelief and of course, what does not please God will be far from Him.

Faith is the key to obtaining from the Lord while the Spirit is what brings us to experience Him. If there is no faith, there is no need worshipping Him, because the walk of Christianity is the walk of faith, and everyone who wants to constantly experience God, must not leave his faith to chance. Sometimes, some people have restricted worship to feelings, and they may begin to doubt their engagement with the Spirit in worshipping, but when faith is at work, feelings will count less.

Why wait to sense a wind before you are assured of the presence of God, when you can exercise faith and the wind of His presence will blow. Faith cannot be faked if it is based on the Word, the Word is the platform by which faith works - all these brings a reality of the presence of God and moves us to becomes agents of the supernatural with God. God is closer when faith is in place.

"The centurion answered and said, 'Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed.'" - Matt 8:8

I don't know whether to call this kind of faith the WiFi faith, that is wireless and does not have any physical contact, one can just be in any location and it will definitely send and receive whatever act of wonders that needs to happen. God announces His presence through His wonders which is often triggered by faith, and no faith is little.

If you understand the efficacy of the Word, you will know that the world is within the reach of God's word and since everything was created by the word, anywhere the word is spoken in faith, everything in the world responds accordingly. Even when a man considers himself unworthy, faith will overlook that and cause God to appear on your behalf.

Naaman the Syrian commander was unlike the centurion who was also a military man, Naaman did not understand that faith does not have any distance barrier, he wanted Elisha to come and touch him before he was cleansed of leprosy, he didn't understand that when the Word is spoken, obedience should follow, contact is not compulsory, it is faith that brings contact and doubt just widens the distance.

YOU CAN BE THE DISTANCE
"Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; nor His ear heavy, that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have separated you from God; and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear." - Isaiah 59:1-2

If the spirit brings us close to God and faith can even help us obtain, why then do we have distance between ourselves and the supernatural. How come we have become like Adam in the garden of Eden, who somehow have become far from the Almighty. He knew God was close, but he really wanted the barrier to stay...God did not hide, in fact, God was more concerned about why Adam would want to hide even though he could never do so. It is sin that makes a man lose his confidence before God.

Sin makes us go far from God, since grieves the spirit and then kills our faith, sin makes us lack confidence even in the word, sin exposes us to alternatives that will never solve any of the issues we have. You have a core responsibility to dismantle every barrier of sin that has come in between you and God.

One of the things that the children of Israel often do when they seek repentance and closeness with God is that, they take away every idol, they crash out the high places and with genuineness of heart cry for mercy. The reason why you think mercy hasn't reached you all this while, even after series of confession is because, you have not done away with that strange idol... God is not far.

"Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double minded." - James 4:8

When a man decides to repent and come to Christ, he will realise that there he doesn't have to travel the miles to mend the broken fences - it only takes a genuine remorse and a sincere repentance and such distances before are closed in no time, love will be felt as if it was never lost. God is the only Being capable of doing this kind of reconciliation.

Mercy isn't far from the person who desperately needs the mercy, it only takes a person who is tired of hiding to call the attention of God. Jonah was there inside the belly of the fish praying, somehow it seems to me that mercy kept him alive in that kind of condition, so that he can cry for mercy also.

We must periodically check ourselves and stop every thing that creates a distance between us and God, if it is a veil of unbelief, we must take it out - we must daily come boldly to the throne of grace to obtain mercy.

CONCLUSION:
A sincere person knows that God is not far, a worshipper of God knows that it takes the spirit and truth to experience the presence of God in worship, and faith brings us to the platform of supernatural. Only we ourselves can be the distance, and genuine repentance closes such distance.

God bless you and I love you.
