LUST IN LOVE

"For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural us for what is against nature." - Rom 1:26


Everything that drives a man's passion this day can be termed loved. An unreasonable obsession over a partner is explained to be love.


When a man can't sleep or when he can't concentrate on the needful or required because of a 'prospect' - love is the only thing that can be said to have happened.


We know that love is a beautiful thing, yet love doesn't boomerang to make us lost. When an unwanted pregnancy comes for a teenager, love will have to be redefined - and yes, they discovered it was lust all along.


The love that makes a man not to be free in the presence of God is suspect. The love that shatters a guys bright future has to be called lust.


If we can see the lust in what we call love, then we would not be given unto vile passion.


LUST OF THE FLESH



"Amnon was so distressed over his sister Tamar that he became sick; for she was a virgin. And it was improper for Ammon to do anything to her." - 2Sam 13:2


When lust is called love, the improper becomes desirable; and until such desires are fulfilled, there is no end to such vile passion.


Sometimes our hearts will beat faster and we may have goose pimples over a guy or girl; these may look like 'it can only be love' - don't be deceived, the flesh is overtaking.

It may look legitimate and divine and you may have all the sweet words to express your love. But love does not make the improper proper and vice versa.


A friend asked Amnon why he was sick, he replied that; love was the reason. He lustfully loved his sister.


When Samson was being slaughtered on the laps of Delilah, 'love' was the same thing that was happening. This same love that didn't make him notice that it wasn't right to marry a Philistine.


"And it happened, when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father's concubine; and Israel heard about it." - Gen 35:22


Reuben was just becoming a man, the first born and he was already born when they married small Bilhah, he felt it wouldn't be a big deal to take her to bed, after all, it's not as if the father Jacob loved her.


Those could have been his thought and they seem sensible but no! The lust of his flesh made him to lose his destiny.


Love does not override reasoning, and though it may genuinely look senseless sometimes, it will never go against God's will.


When our lust make us far from God and deaf to his commands..we have become driven by lust and such person become lost.


THE LUST OF THE EYES



"I made a solemn pact with myself never to undress a girl with my eyes." - Job 31:1


What is it that you saw that has made you the
 way you are? It's not about whether you should walk blindly, it's about what you have picked with your eyes for your mind to process.


The things you feed your eyes with like the unrealistic soap operas and the pornography has made you become lustful, and it seems no one can save you from yourself.


You burn with so much passion and you fail to realise that you're walking on hot coals.... Your feet will soon be seared.


"Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things. And revive me in Your way." - Psalm 119: 37


You must pay attention to the things your eyes pick. You shouldn't fall into the pit of lust because of what is before you.


Even beauty or looks shouldn't be the yardstick of love, because charm is deceitful and beauty is passing. Don't let what you see in the physical be the bases of your judgement, for the things which are seen are temporal, but that which is not seen is eternal (2 Cor 4:18)


Even angels fell by what they saw and if you will not fall, you must pay attention to the things you see.


GET IT RIGHT



"I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, by the gazelles or by the does of the field, do not stir up nor awaken love until it pleases" - SOS 2:7


Love awakened at the wrong time is lust. What one doesn't understand will ultimately be abused.


It is not that the intention of those in lust not to be in love. But when one does not know love, such a one will be in lust and be lust.


A man's thinking ability is distorted when he is in lust. A man's vision becomes blurred when lust is in sight, as Samson, as the bible states 'saw a woman in Gaza'. They were houses, enemies and good things, Samson only saw a woman.


Even when he is attacking the enemy and seem like doing it for God, it became clear that his motivation was lust and he did it to pave the way for his deadly passion.

I see young people get involved in kingdom activities just because of a craving for lust. Eli's children were priests but yet were so lustful even in the assembly of the children of God.
You must first learn purity because to him who is pure all things are pure.


"Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart." - 2 Tim 2:22


It's not as if Joseph wasn't aroused by the seduction of Mrs Potiphar, but when there's an option to flee as there always will be, it is expedient or necessary and important to take that option.


Flee! If you can flee from lust, you'll dash towards righteousness, faith, love and peace. That's what you should do, flee lust.


Conclusion: It's not all sweet words that connotes love, it's not all actions that are driven by love, all sacrifices are not for love.


Don't be caught in the trap of lust.
What I have said to myself, I say to all.
