CREEPING THINGS
"For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God our Lord Jesus Christ." - Jude 4
While we weren't alert in the Spirit, the serpent crept in through the garden of our fellowship. When we slumbered spiritually the world crept into the church, when we were heady and neck-stiffed the creeping serpent was sent to kill in the wilderness.
How did the church get so worldly and we didn't know, how did evil or unclean spirits find their way into the temple and held sway for long, yet we have mistaken them for godly brethren.
They crept in for pollution and we when we know, we couldn't be neutralised from their sting. Brothers and sisters, we are in a time when a lot of things have crept in to the church, we have permitted the devices of the devil because we were ignorant of it.
As we know, if there is no drastic measure to eradicate these creeping things that have crept into the church, the church would become as A.W Tozer framed it 'if it were medicine, it wouldn't cure anything, and if it was poison it wouldn't kill anything either'.
These creeping things are the palmerworms, locust and cankerworms that have eaten the productivity of the saints and caused us all to become docile and spiritually lean. Though there is an outward fatness of wealth and numbers.
CRACK IN THE WALL
"So He brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, there was a hole in the wall. Then He said to me, 'Son of man, dig into the wall'; and when I dug into the wall, there was a door. And He said to me, 'Go in, and see the wicked abominations which they are doing there." - Eze 8:7-9
If there are no cracks on the wall, nothing can creep on or into the wall, but the sad thing now is that, we find a much pathetic situation than a crack, it is a hole that has been dug.
When unregenerated men are allowed to handle spiritual matters, when babes are given shepherd roles, and when desperation for numbers is cherished more than spiritual impact, what we would have is a hole!
Like rats we may not be able to know when they operate, but their damage to the body of Christ are worse and render the efforts of few spiritual men meaningless.
As it took the Spirit of the Lord for these things to be revealed unto Ezekiel, it will also take the Spirit of the Lord to discover these things in our days. The church that does not insist on holiness will never discover this. The church that doesn't move towards perfection will stay grounded and grinded by this anomaly.
"He who digs a pit will fall into it, and whoever breaks through a wall will be bitten by a serpent." - Ecc 10:7
There is a wall of salvation that God surrounds us with and if we dare break through it, we would invite the serpent into our lives and of course, it will sting and the venom will kill the spirit man.
How I wish the Lord will open your eyes to this matter, how I hope that that the enemies have not infiltrated our ranks beyond repair.
Sanballat and Tobiah had a secret plan stating that they would enter into Nehemiah's army without them knowing, but for discernment, their plans been succesful. We must be alert and do continuos spiritual inspection of the church in order to chase out these creeping things.
CREPT IN THROUGH REBELLION
"So the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and many of the people of Israel died." - Num 21:6
We will be the one to permit certain creeping things into our lives if we are rebellious. The Lord made the devil to be a creeping thing, and he permits this creeping devil into people's lives to destroy when there is a sign of rebelliousness.
The sin of disobedience is like the sin of witchcraft and the serpent devil is the chief witch, anytime we allow our hearts to be hardened, the Lord sends a creeping serpent to destroy our abundance.
The people who have rejected God in their heart, the people who have refused to submit the counsel of God and also oppose His counsel will be bitten by a serpent.
"For of this sort are those who creep into household and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts." - 2Tim 3:6
Are you lusting over the things of the world? Watch it, that may be a crack on your wall, are you looking back or an inordinate desire resides in you, that could be rebelliousness.
It is possible that you are the very creeping thing that has caused so much perversion and the heavens raise alarm at your sight, the Lord sees your rebellion and you will surely be defeated.
Your agenda in the church is to lead silly women captive, to cause contention and to raise strife, the day the people become aware, that is the day your end start.
DOMINION OVER CREEPING THINGS
"And He said to them, 'I saw Satan fall like lightening from heaven. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.'" - Luke 10:18-19
To be conferred with authority and yet not walk in it, makes one a slave to smaller authorities. The church must rise up and stop the perversion and worldliness that has crept into our fellowship. The magnitude of power at the kingdom's disposal in this end time should not permit all these rubbish.
We have a duty to walk in obedience and be submissive in all meekness to God in order to express our God given right. No devil should be spared in whatever form in this day of His power.
Forgiveness must take the place of strife lest the devil takes advantage of us. Peace must be pursued lest we all fall in the wilderness of life, His grace must be embraced lest we make the church a disgrace.
"When He had made a whip of cords, He drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the changers' money and overturned the tables." - John 2:15
No one really had the guts to challenge Jesus because the authority was clear and visible. The house has become the house of thieves but this must not continue.
If the anomaly in the church doesn't annoy you, then you are a suspect. The church needs urgent sanitisation, more urgent than the ebola scourge.
CONCLUSION: Let everyone recognise the harm of letting creeping things thrive, let everyone be careful not to rebel or crack the wall; but we must all consciously exercise our God-given authority over every creeping thing.
