TROUBLED HEART?

"Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me." - John 14:1

The turmoil of a troubled soul or heart will cause more problem than physical conflict. When a person is emotionally downcast and experiencing uncertainty, there is a possibility of a total wreckage to activities around such a person.

Nothing unsettles a man more than an uncertain future, not knowing what tomorrow will be or not knowing the outcome of things for sure, when faith seem too illogical or when circumstances seem irresolvable - such a man will have a troubled heart.

This is to bring you hope and to help you find succour in times as this, when the whole world around you seem crashing, you may be blinded to the hope ahead but that doesn't mean there's no hope. To believe there is hope is to have a great shot at the solution just ahead.

There is hope for you if only you will believe in Him, there is succour for your anxiety if you will do what He ask you to do, you will sure find rest if you take Him by His Word. Dear friend, do not be troubled there is hope.

Even Ahab got a solution to his troubled heart when Jezebel intervened, and you have a more powerful King who is concerned about your troubled heart.

WHY?
"Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance." - Psalm 42:5

Sometimes we just have to have a chat with ourselves and try to see the need of our worries, it is needful to engage the mind at a moment when we are filled with worries and have no idea the main challenge faced. When you even want to find a solution you should be able to identify the problem.

But we know that the many things that trouble the soul is undefined, some can even hide under the guise of money or material things or even love but this may not be so; you may not just know what is wrong and this may even add to the trouble.

There would voids in the deepest of our heart that will cause us to be unsettled, there would be some insatiable needs that will make us sleepless like Ahab, there would also be insecurity as it applied to Saul that will cause an evil spirit to be upon us....but in the midst of all these, not being able to identify the cause of worry is the chief of all troubles.

"Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?" - Matt 6:27

An undefined worry can be harmful to the health, an unexpressed fright or fear can make one act unreasonably. Many times young people would have made costly mistake out of unfounded worries and anxiety.

Begin to question your worries and you will see that they shouldn't have troubled you in the first place, begin to face your fears for a definition and you will realise they make no sense, begin to respond to true problems with faith and you will discover how insignificant they become.

An unquestioned worry is a sinker and will surely drown one.

WHAT DO I DO?
"who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear" - Heb 5:7

Even if your worries are well defined and legitimate, it should cause you to pray as the prayer of faith will ease worries and clear doubts. If prayers to God doesn't ease the pain then you have prayed with unbelief... It is as simple as that.

Sometimes your tears would be the only offering that will accompany your prayers, sometimes your groaning will be much but if it is not channelled to God in prayers it will be just an emotional display. David talked about how his bed was soaked with tears and how he was in tears day and night, yet it was to God He poured his emotions, not on facebook.

Even if the worries are unfounded and unreasonable, you still have to cast all your cares upon Him, for it may be that the enemy wants to rob you of the imminent joy and has placed burdens on you to become ungrateful.

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." - Phil 4:6-7

There is a peace that comes to us when we knee to God in prayer, there is an assurance of grace that settles upon the praying heart, though we cannot explain because such a blissful succour surpasses all understanding. It is the medication for a troubled soul.

"by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving" - maybe the reason you're still down is because the thanksgiving part has not been added to the prayer package, you must put on the garment of praise to cast away the spirit of heaviness.

It is in the place of prayer we get an answer of peace. It is on our knees we get assurance of the hope that lies ahead.

WHAT NOT TO DO
"Thus says the LORD: 'Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart departs from the LORD." - Jer 17:5

Man can be a medium to solution as ordained by God but man should never and can never bring solution in place of God. When you take worries to men or lament on facebook before telling it to God and shopping for baseless sympathy and pity, you become cursed to remain in such dilemma.

How often we quickly displace the place of God and look up for connections in high places, it is disappointment that will be the outcome and no solution will be seen. The place to seek is northward and not the surrounding. It becomes more painful when men's soothing words cannot take the pain of a troubled soul away.

I know you have a relative abroad but you should look above. I'm sure you are connected in high places but please be connected to the Vine. It is possible that you have tried all available sources, but please can your faith move you?

"So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory." - Psalm 63:2

You have been looking for God inside the flesh of man, you have been found in congregations and not in the presence, stop moving around circles, you're looking up to one pastor and you have neglected God..  That is an error that will make keep you in trouble.

No man can do what only God can do, and it is unfair even for you to depend on a man for what only God can do, do you want to kill that man while he is playing god for you?

CONCLUSION: Cast all your burdens on Him for He cares for you. - 1Pet 5:7

God bless you and I love you
