OIL BUSINESS
"But the wise answered, saying, 'No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.'" - Matt 25:9
It is your responsibility to keep your lamps burning, it is your primary responsibility to make sure the oil is available, it is your business to make sure you are not caught unawares and embarrassed because your oil is finished. The foolish virgins lacked discipline and didn't think of a refill.
If the oil in Nigeria dries up today, we all know our economy will be in trouble, that is ironically the case in the kingdom. If your oil dries up when it is needed, your foolishness of the dark will spell out in capital letters. It is foolishness to depend on another's anointing to run the kingdom race.
God who is the seller of the oil is ever available to sell as the case was with the virgins, but if we will not take the responsibility to buy when necessary, it may become useless when we eventually buy.
You may be running on a reserve now and not thinking of a refill, you may have slumbered like even the wise did, but if there is nothing in your vessel, trouble will loom.
We will take a simple approach to this topic today, we try to look at the depth God is trying to point to us, if we can open our hearts to God this very day..He will indeed show us the need to take responsibility for our oil or anointing management.
It is by grace that this message comes to you today.
OIL IN VESSEL
"Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, 'Bring me another vessel.' And he said to her, ' There is not another vessel.' So the oil ceased." - 2Kings 3:6
As long as there are sanctified vessels, there will always be a filling, no matter how many we are, no matter the debt we are in, if we ae available and sanctified, the Lord will fill us up, and we will get out of misery. Sanctification will include a separation for the Lord.
The woman needed to trade in the oil so that she and her children will live without fear, so also you need to have the oil to be relevant in the kingdom. That is the world's essential commodity and also the kingdom essential commodity.
The woman said she only has a jar of oil, it further teaches us that there is a measure of anointing we all carry as the virgins did, but it is basically our responsibility to see that there is oil in our vessel. If you don't go and buy the oil now so that your lamps don't go out, you will be in darkness and the rapture may take you unaware.
The scripture said the wise took oil in their vessels, the foolish went about doing kingdom activity without taking time out for a refill, they ignored the place of personal Bible study, they were too lazy to pray, church work was more important to them than fellowship of the spirit.
They keep on quoting same Scriptures over and over again and it has lost strength because they didn't take oil in their vessel... This may be your story.
"And the Spirit and the bride say, 'Come!' And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely." - Rev 22:17
The only cost of the anointing is your thirst, the only currency required is your desire, your thirst will determine how clean your vessel will be, the measure of your thirst will determine your availability. This is the cost of the anointing - a thirst, a hunger and your availability.
If a man purges himself of the latter, he shall be used as a vessel unto honour. It is not all vessel that are suitable for the anointing, it is not all vessel that will be qualified for the anointing, there are some for honour, there are some for dishonour... If only you will purge yourself. This is how we become filled.
It is possible you think it is a small matter but it is not, God is asking for another vessel to fill, yet the answer is that there are no more vessel. Of course the earth is filled with humans, but God cannot just fill anyone, He wouldn't just pour new wine into old wine skin. It will destroy you. It is time to purge yourself and become a new wine skin so He can pour the new wine in you.
OIL ON THE HEAD
"Let your garments always be white, and let your head lack no oil." - Ecc 9:8
The oil remained in Samuel's vessel until the right head came for it. The right head was that which had consecration, it was the head that was lowly, humble and simple. Even if there are available vessels as it was with David's elder brothers, there is still a little check of humility and simplicity.
It is not enough to have the oil in vessels if it is not useful, the oil in vessel is not equal to the oil on the head. If there is no purity, the oil in the vessel will be a waste of resources. If there is no white garment, the oil will corrupt the impacted. It is purity before power.
Samson's locks had to be intact for the anointing to keep running, if the locks of your consecration is flaunted and faulty, though you read your Bible and always pray, because there is a secret sin, it will not function to its utmost potential.
"It is like the precious oil upon the head, running down on the beard, the beard of Aaron, running down the edge his garments." - Psalm 133:2
It flows from the head of the vessel down to the garments of purity, that was why the tip of Jesus' garments could heal that woman with infirmity. Purity is the effective agent of the anointed, anything apart of from is a reservoir anointing and nothing more.
We must be available, we must thirst, we must hunger but for honour we must be purged, we can be filled with knowledge and depth but for it to benefit the world it must flow from the head and the garments of purity will be soaked too, so that any part of us will become a blessing to people.
"Thou anoints my head with oil" - if the head isn't anointed, we will live in obscurity, no one will hear, no one will recognise it... The cost of the oil of the head is absolute purity and God doesn't compromise on this particular standard or any at that.
ADULTERATED OIL
"Dead flies putrefy the perfumer's ointment, and cause it to give off a foul odour; so does a little folly to one respected for wisdom and honour." - Ecc 10:1
Dead works in the life of the anointed will cause foul odour to emanate from him. It is possible for one to be anointed yet repulsive to his congregation. Dead works of sin causes the anointed to stink and makes his works controversial.
Saul was anointed just as David, but dead works of disobedience made his anointing become an adulterated one. It began to stink and though he held on to position, the purity of David made people recognise the original.
I know you are anointed sir, but what is this rumour of sexual perversion we are hearing about you? We know you move in the power of the Spirit, but why does your life tell contrary to what is on the pulpit. This is but an adulterated oil, it is not endorsed by the kingdom and it is therefore not marketable in the world.
"But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things." - 1John 1:20
If there is an anointing from the Holy One, it is also possible to possess anointing from the unholy one, it is possible that the devil has empowered some, it is possible that some have diabolical powers but don't know anything.
The oil from the Holy One gives insight into the person of God and the fruits of the Holy One bears in them, but for those who have gotten adulterated oil from the unholy one, they lie in darkness and are ignorant, they bow to those who know their God.
This your demonstration, where did you get it? When did you abandon consecration? How did you become this carnal yet you call on Jesus? Your anointing may have become contaminated.
CONCLUSION: The kingdom trades on anointing and your vessels have to be ready and your garments has to be pure for it to flow from your head. Anything apart from this is fake.
Let the oil flow.
God bless you and I love you
