BOW DOWN AND WORSHIP

"For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named." - Eph 3:14-15

The act of bowing can be act of adoration or a succumbing to a higher power. It is not for religious affiliation as we often think, but it comes more from an attitude rather than a religious matter.

If I bow to pray, it doesn't mean that I am of the muslim faith, if I bow in worship it is more of awe than a routine. We must have an understanding of some spiritual exercise so as not to become dogmatic and lacking understanding.

We must also refuse to bow to idols which have come in different versions and forms in our time. We must not bow to pressure to compromise or to sin against our God. We may not bow heads but once we fall into temptation via any form of pressure, then we have bowed to an unknown god.

Let's therefore stop all the hypocrisy that comes with routine kneeing in form of worship. If your heart is not bowed then your kneeing is just a punishment. If you are not surrendered to God then your head bowing in prayers is just meaningless.

DO NOT BOW IN COMPROMISE
"Then a herald cried aloud: 'to you it is commanded, O peoples, nations, and languages, that at the time you hear the sound of the horn, flute, harp, lyre, psaltery, in symphony with all kinds of music, you shall fall down and worship the gold image that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up" - Daniel 3:4-5

Do not think that such herald call does not apply to you today, at the sound of this worldly music full of perversion and vanity; your response or disposition to the music is a reaction whether you're bowing to a god or not. Of course, you know that music and entertainment is one of the greatest tool of the devil to hold people in submission to him.

It was more of an intimidation than an act of worship, it must more of a demeaning of their person than a clamour for cooperate worship, if they had bowed, the same people made in the image of God would have belittled their glory just for an image.

It will make you less of a person to succumb to things less of God's glory because they will make you less of His image. It is an aberration or misnomer to delight in things that has its root in satanic inspiration. To respond in delight is to bow down to an idol.

Would you be intimidated or would you not discern now that the music is an herald call to the nations and peoples of the world to bow to satan

"And all the king's servant who were within the king's gate bowed and paid homage to Haman, for so the king had commanded concerning him. But Mordecai would not bow or pay homage." - Esther 3:1

I see many believers who have become less of a Christian and have defiled themselves just because of a boss. They have danced to the tune of small gods just to gain favour. You have sponsored an idol festival in your ogas village just to win contract.

If we start lobbying unbelievers to gain favour, it is an act of bowing in compromise, if we start exhibiting neutrality in matters we should take a stand.. We have started bowing. If we start becoming indifferent to callous people and smiling at them out of fear; we have bowed in compromise.

Wouldn't you refuse not to bow to any image less than the person of God, will you not at this time stand in courage and trust to the One who called you and stop all these reckless bowing.

EVERY KNEE SHOULD BOW
"that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth" - Phil 2:10

The true revelation of the name of Jesus humbles the earth, the true nature of the person of Jesus makes the most hardened heart to melt, the true person of Jesus brings all to their knee in surrender and adoration.

Every knee should, but we know that all knees are not bowing, when the name of Jesus is a mere appendage to prayers said, there would be no reverence to the greatness of His name.

But to the one who understands the power behind the name of Jesus and calls it with such revelation, no matter the affliction or person, whether it be sickness or condition...such things or persons must bow.

I'm not emphasizing a show of outward demonstration but a brokenness on the inside that reflects on the outside.

"When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees saying, 'Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!'" - Luke 5:8

The reality of His acts and wonders should cause us to be forever bowed before Him. There's no name greater, there no problem or challenge that is beyond the name of Jesus.

Whatever is at the peak of the universe should bow to the name of Jesus, most times knowledge has made us high minded and proud, but we will do well to realise that a man without the knowledge of God is without understanding in anything.

CASTING CROWNS
"the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying" - Rev 4:10

The man who has caught a glimpse of glory will be bent on a permanent worship of adoration to God, the heights you have attained wouldn't matter, it will just happen like a reflex action...you will cast all down and fall in worship.

We should long for an attainment of constant and permanent bowing before the throne of God either in worship or in awe.

There is no one too big to bow, but this shouldn't also come as some dramatic episode as it has become common that everyone leading worship will start demanding everyone to be on their knees. This is a bowing of compulsion and it has never been God's style.

"And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshipped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him; gold frankincense, and myrrh." - Matt 2:11

The use of 'fell down' shows that they weren't compelled but the heart that connects with God will indeed fall down at His appearing. When they  saw the young child and their treasures counted for nothing as they offered it freely.

The crown of the twenty-four elders was for nothing when they were before the throne of God. Your status has nothing to do with true worship. Bow in adoration to the King.

LET US BOW IN PRAYER
"And Ezra blessed the LORD, the great God. Then all the people answered, 'Amen, Amen!' while lifting up their hands. And they bowed their heads and worshipped the LORD with their faces to the ground." - Neh 8:6

Sometimes it wouldn't be a prayer of affirmation, it wouldn't be all about emphasizing our authority, it wouldn't be about killing the enemy; it would just be about surrender.

At this point, the posture we take while praying will show the condition of our hearts. We can't always go to God in prayers forming 'Sons' or whatever, we must pray with a surrendered heart.

Jesus fell down and prayed agonizingly, He wasn't trying to look like a man of authority, He wasn't trying to impress the Lord with many high sounding words or tongues. He just bowed and wept to the Father.

An attitude of pride will hinder our prayer, an attitude of pride will make it difficult for God to break us.. We must pray with a bowed heart and this is important.
If you don't pray with a bowed heart, you will pray amiss and grope in the darkness of illusions. Let your hearts be bowed.
CONCLUSION: We must not bow to the world's system, yet our hearts and soul must be bowed, before we look for a physical bowing.
God bless you and I love you.
