DIRECTION
"Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, 'this is the way, walk in it,' whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left." - Isaiah 30:21
Your evasive style of doing things will not substitute the place of direction. At certain points in our lives, we would be caught along the path of the unknown and unfamiliar, we soul encounter the seemingly strange things that if there's no direction we will be lost.
To ignore direction is to become lost into the path of trial and error. There are those who think the world is a trial field, but because time is the principle by which life is guided, we would then need direction so as not to waste time.
Direction is not limited to a road, it is all encompassing as regards our lives. When we are in a situation and we don't really know the 'way' to handle it, the Holy Spirit can direct us.
Direction in the context of this piece will not dwell on coincidence as some who are babes will depend on coincidence. The problem of coincidence is that, it can be hijacked by emotions which are predictable and also by the devil.
We will do well to submit to the direction, to the voice behind us, to the strong constrains and the mild impulses of the Spirit. This is our compass for life!
LOOK AT THE CLOUDS
"And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night." - Exo 13:21
Looking up to the clouds in this dispensation does not literally mean we should be looking at the sky for a sign. When we become rescued and saved from the claws of the wicked devil, we must look up to the heavens for direction for our lives.
The One who is in heaven sees all things and nothing is hidden from the clouds. Whether in the days of sunshine or the darkest night. The Lord must give us direction.
If you have just been saved you are in an unfamiliar territory and we must consciously and regularly ask God for direction in the paths we need to thread.
To think that you know the way of the promise land, without direction is to miss the path.
The Lord knows the way to the wilderness, all you have to do is to follow.
"Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." - John 14:6
Whatever path you want to thread, whatever truth your heart seeks, whatever life you desire, you must look at Him who came from the cloud (heaven).
Until Jesus came everyone who sought direction for life on how to live and how to cope looked unto the clouds, they cried to God for a sign.
The clouds led the Shepherd to see Jesus and to bow and worship. Anytime we seek directions for our lives, if we will cry to heaven in prayers...it is the life of Jesus that will become the compass for us.
He that is from above is above all things, you too must look at Him who is from above, He knows all and sees all things.
He is the best direction for our lives. No one can get missing with Him.
THE WORD IS COMPASS
"Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." - Psalm 119:105
Those who don't know how to read a map like me usually experience difficulty going to places, but if your area is not on the map too, I think it is wisdom to know that you don't have to go there.
We must become familiar and accustomed to the Word, it is the surest road map to our destination. It has been proven over ancient times that it is true and will always take anyone to his or her destination.
You know what, even the grass that we use in knowing places will wither and the flowers planted before will also fade, but the Word of the Lord will stands forever!
It has never misled anyone before because the Word was used in laying the foundation of the world.
"The entrance of Your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple." - Psalm 119:130
If you're in a state of confusion, if you are in your darkest hours of trouble and uncertainty; it is important for you to know that it is the Word that brought light from the beginning, and it's still at the highest voltage to the darkest things in life.
You can trust the living Word to even speak to help you navigate through troubled paths.
My dear friend, I know it may not sound practicable, yet this matter of faith is of faith before evidence. You must first believe it as proven before it is manifested.
If you are not far from the Word you will not be lost in the world, if you don't know where you are heading to, the word can let you know and take you there also.
The word is the surest compass of direction.
STAY ON THE PATH
"Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go." - Joshua 1:7
We are currently living in a world of discretion where it is expected of us to rely on our discretion in making decision, most times this has caused many to derail and be lost on the path of the Word.
One will look narrow minded or parochial in approach when one decides to stay put on the direction of God.
It is expected of a believer not to move until he finds or gets direction, why should you move if moving is to get lost.
If He has shown us or given a particular direction, we will do well not to take a detour and abandon God's direction.
Your state of confusion will not really show when you deviate but it will be pronounced when it has led you to destruction. Moses said, if you will not go with us, do not let us go at all.
Prov 14:12 says; there is a way that seems right to a man but the end thereof is destruction.
"Thus says the LORD: 'stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; then you will find rest for your souls. But they said, 'we will not walk in it.''" - Jer 6:16
Maybe you've lost your way and it seems you have gone too far from the the way, yet you can ask, you can pray, you can hear and then you can walk the path of His direction.
There's no one who has gone beyond redemption. No matter how far the sheep has strayed, be assured that there's a shepherd who has left 99 and is searching for just you.
Come and follow His direction.
