COVER MY NAKEDNESS

"Also for Adam and his wife the LORD God made tunics of skin, and clothed them." - Gen 3:21

After the fall of man, one of the obvious consequence Adam could recognise was their nakedness. He couldn't face the God whom he communed with frequently anymore.

Though the couple made cloths out of fig leaves to cover their nakedness, yet they still felt naked. It was beyond a physical and as long as they were uncovered, they became vulnerable.

Anyone who has fallen and tried to cover his sins with lies and excuses will not prosper and indeed will not be successful in such attempts.

Though you try to hide and cover up, if the Lord does not make a covering of mercy for you; your nakedness will bear glaringly in the open and you will indeed be put to shame.

God's covering on Job was removed and he could only cry out and lament of his nakedness - 'naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return there...' (Job 1:21)

Your effort to cover your frailties and fallings will end up in futility, if you will not come out to God in sincerity. We all have our fallings and failings, but it is because God has covered some, that the glory shines.

They wouldn't have been a further communion if God did not cover their nakedness, though Adam covered - yet he was far from God.

All the covering you have done has only taken you farther from Him, don't you think it is time you admit your nakedness to Him who made you naked from your mother's womb so He can cloth you.

EVERYTHING IS NAKED BEFORE HIM

"And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account." - Heb 4:13

One of the greatest challenges of man is the pressure of keeping up appearance or better still our unending pretence.

We have taken it too far by pretending to Him whom nothing can be hidden from.

You wouldn't mind taking off your clothes in front of a physician, yet you have a challenge in coming out clean with God, even though He sees beyond your skin - He sees and knows the state of your soul and your spiritual well being.

Even when you go to church, you can't help but try to appear saintly before a God who knows your fallen state. The pastor has asked you to confess, yet you're ambiguous in your prayer, saying 'in any way I have sinned' (as if you don't know the way you have sinned, as if you don't feel naked).

Your nakedness will only take you farther from His presence, and even at that, there's no hiding place for thee. He sees everything.

"Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, but the night shines as day; the darkness and the night are both alike to You. For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother's womb." - Psalm 139:12-13

As nothing can be hidden from God, so also no place is too hidden from God. Will you stop all the pretence and come under God's arm for a covering.

The more naked you are, the more exposed and vulnerable you are to the cold nights and harsh conditions of the world. You won't be able to go further until you admit that you're naked.

The devil sees your nakedness and that's the moment he becomes close to you. O double faced man, you are one and the same to your creator - a naked man!

FILTHINESS EQUALS NAKEDNESS

"Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and was standing before the Angel. Then He answered and spoke to those who stood before Him, 'take away the filthy garments from him.' And to him He said, 'see I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes." - Zach 3:3-4

It doesn't matter what you do in church or how beautiful you appear before a congregation, if your clothing is filthy, then you are naked.
Joshua, who was the high priest, was the highest spiritual officer in the kingdom, yet he needed to be clothed.

Some of us have used activities in the church as a cover for our fallen state, we pretend not to be aware of our state because the people still hold us high and our reputation seem to cast a spell of covering upon us.

Hello friend, the Holy One whom you serve does not agree with your state, though He was the One who had clothed you before, yet you have soiled your garment on the altar of public acceptance. Though you are accepted by the congregation, yet you are rejected by your God.

Forget your reputation and come down your high horse, o thou who minister before the congregation, or you who have been exalted by a deceived people. Come humbly and acknowledge your fault before your Maker so He can cover your nakedness.

"But we are all like an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are filthy rags; we all fade as leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind have taken us away." - Isaiah 64:6

Anyone who claims to be righteous will rightly be so, based on the righteousness of  Jesus and not by works of religion. If all you do is to keep face in the public and think you can replace your garments with physical garments, then you are running in errors.

It doesn't matter how charismatic we may appear, it doesn't matter how eloquent we are or wise, my friend if the garment isn't pure or clean, then it is filthy before God. If your garments have been exchanged by the devil then it is filthy and you're naked.

Ecc 9:8 says your garment has to be white, but you have multicoloured cloths on and you have mistaken it for glory. Is it not because your white garment that portray holiness is stained? Don't be deceived you are not clothed.

To the eyes of men, your clothing is beautiful and it's of good quality, but to God and to even you - you're aware of your nakedness.

RESTORATION IS A COVERING

"But the father said to his servants, 'bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet.'" - Luke 15:22

Independence from God will only bring nakedness, and no matter how open minded a person can be about life, God is the one that gives a person sound mind.

We may not have noticed, but when a person comes back to God, He covers our shame. Guilt and self condemnation makes our nakedness more pronounced in the open; yet if we come to the father asking for mercy, He will cover us.

How long will you have to keep been out in the cold? How long will you freeze under the scare of the devil, why not come close to the embrace of the father.

"'Come now, and let us reason together,' says the LORD, though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool." - Isaiah 1:18

Sometimes our original cloth may have been stained and it seems no launderer can ever make it clean again, don't worry the blood of Jesus can wash every stain away.

You must take a step forward, I know you're ashamed because of your nakedness; but a step towards the father in that state will be the last time you remember you're in that state.

Wouldn't you ask the Lord to cover you? The world is making jest and they are scorning at you, the best direction to run is into the waiting arms of the Father.

Please come and receive a covering.

God bless you and I love you
