STAND FAST IN LIBERTY


"Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage." - Gal 5:1

Why do people suffer relapse even after a seeming conquering of addictions.
Why does it look as if total freedom is not available to people being delivered?
Some habits stop for a while, yet the victim gets back to the habit and plunge deeper into a mess.

You say you've renounced the hidden things of darkness, yet you still give unto Ceaser in your village, you bind yourself with traditions that are unfounded and compromising in the Scripture.

How does one not abuse liberty, and how can one stay firm on the path of liberty without going back to his vomit.

Some do not know the extent of their freedom, or some do not want a total freedom, as there seem to be a pleasurable attachment to the bondage of their soul.

When Christ sets a man free, the man is expected to stay free - and that is solely the responsibility of that man.

You must work out your salvation with fear and trembling. You must stay in the Word, abide in the place of prayer and do what the word says - it's not for you to understand the mysteries of breaking and staying free, yours is to make sure you play your part to stand fast in liberty.

Are there addictions, habits, unclean spirits or past events that seem not to leave you? This piece is for you to stay free.

FREEDOM BY THE SPIRIT

"Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty." - 2 Cor 3:17

Maybe the reason there seems to be a relapse, is because it was through men's wisdom and tactics that you gained temporary freedom.
The Spirit of God inside a man helps him gain freedom and make him stay free.

If the things you were 'delivered' from still holds an attraction to you, or there seem to be a non submission to the will of God from you - then you will be free temporarily through traditions and wisdom of men.

I have struggled with habits and addictions in the past and anytime I make a declaration of determination, I seem to plunge deeper into such habits. It seem the stronger man, the devil was making jest and a mess of my quest for freedom.

"So he answered and said to me: 'This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: 'not by might nor by power, but My Spirit,' says the LORD of hosts.'" - Zach 4:6

The waging war of our soul and the little foxes that makes us a failure in private though we keep face in public, is not a statement of fact but a working of the Spirit, on, through and in a man.

We will get to the part where we would highlight the things we need to do, but the source and process by which we get free is of utmost importance.
If you got freedom from listing things and staying away from things, such practices only put a man deeper in bondage and has never been proven to make a man sober or free.

If there is no working of the Spirit in a man's heart and soul, such a man would fumble and wobble and the new state would be worse than the previous.

Gaining freedom by the Spirit, is evidenced in  your experience, how much effect does the Spirit word have in you, how genuine were you at the point of freedom.

DO ALL TO STAND

"When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry place, seeking rest, and finds none. Then he says, 'I will return to my house from which I came,' and when he comes and finds it empty, swept, and put in order.....'" - Matt 12:43-45

The reason for freedom is to move into liberty. It is to allow one who had been bound to walk in reality of his dreams and noble intentions.

How can one be said to be free, yet there is no new experience of what you have allowed yourself to experience. How come you are empty, the whole idea of freedom was to give you liberty to do noble things. But what has happened?

Nature abhors vacuum as everything has to be filled with something. You say you're free, yet no Scripture is in you. You say you're free, yet there's no testimony of a new life.... You have only given the devil temporal quit notice in order to make renovation to his house - you!

"Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure." - Phil 2:12-13

Much more in your pastor's absence, much more in your children's absence or those who look up to you. You must first be a man, whose life in public must be underscored in the secret place.

Why are you only strong when your pastor is around. You must begin to work out your freedom. You must engage in discoveries of your liberty. You must start indulging in things that free people indulge in, like praying, studying the word, stirring up the gifts of God in you.

Don't just be there, stand and walk in the liberty that Christ has made you free.

"Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you." - James 4:7

What you don't resist has the power over you.
Submission is hard for the world today, as we all believe in our right to express our will. But when you submit your will to God, you create a platform for Him to work in you for His good pleasure.

WALKING IN FREEDOM

"Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?" - Gal 3:3

The freedom we have received does not make us bound to rules but gives us an unbounded platform of expression for righteousness and dynamics in the things of God.

The freedom a child of God has received is unto Sonship to allow the Spirit engrave the word into our hearts as tablet.
The freedom we have received is to enslave the slave master - the devil and to lord it over him with impunity.

When we have gained our freedom, we begin to see through the traditions of men that are religious but lacking in actual righteousness. We become free to be only compelled, restricted and convicted by the Spirit - so as not to enter errors.

"What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace should abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?" - Rom 6:1

The devil kept us bound so as not to express righteousness, but when we receive our freedom through Christ - we are bound in righteousness so as not to be in sin.

Therefore, we must express righteousness without apology to the devil because, we are now free from what brings death and we found found liberty to do that which brings life.

Grace is not an avenue for sin, but a catalyst to express godliness in unbounded and unbridled dimension - yet being regulated by the Spirit of God.
