SEND DOWN THE RAIN

"Ask the LORD for rain in the time of the latter rain. The LORD will make flashing clouds; He will give them showers of rain, grass in the field for everyone." - Zach 10:1

Presently in India, where over 2,300 people have died due to the very severe heat wave, one would wonder their desperation for rain.

Hunger will abound and people would be in despair if the rain doesn't come as expected. No one can survive without rain.

We are in a time when rain doesn't just connote the physical water pouring from the cloud, a man who is spiritual or who commands the supernatural, has experienced a certain magnitude of rain from heaven.

The fruits of the Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit cannot abound in a man's life if He hasn't experienced Open Heavens.

Anyone who has been touched by the rain from heaven, is blessed beyond the physical rain.
A blind man needs not to be told when there is rain, for he will hear and feel the wind, a deaf man need not to be told as he will see it.

No one can deny the effect of rain, and for whatever we need from God, if He sends rain, it is enough answer to our request.

It is the Lord in His mercy who causes it to rain both on the just and the unjust (Matt 5:45), whether you're saved or unsaved, you need to pray for rain to survive.

GATHERING CLOUDS

"If the clouds are full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth; and if a tree falls to the south or the north, in the place where the tree falls, there it shall lie." - Ecc 11:3

There's sure a season when one would have to wait for the rain as the rain comes in seasons. At this time it will be wise for the Christian to sow in prayers and the clouds of rain will gather.

It may be that you're expecting a miracle or expecting the rain, you must know that the level of your gathering, is what will eventually pour down. We experience rain in degrees and the effect of one rain differs from the other.

The man who desires an infilling of the Holy Ghost and wants to command the supernatural, such a one must wait.

"Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain." - James 5:7

You may have experienced a level of rainfall, but there remains the latter rain and as the farmer patiently waits, you must wait - your clouds are gathering.

The Spirit of God can flood a man's life in form of rain and he becomes heavenly.
When a person thirst for God and His righteousness, it is the rain from heaven that will quench the thirst.

"Then Elijah said to Ahab, 'Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain.'" - 1Kings 18:41

The reason you will get the early rain is so, you'll be sensitive enough to hear the sound of abundance of rain.

Jesus talked about how people were able to predict the weather, you too must be sensitive enough to know that your clouds are gathering.

After Elijah's victory over the prophets of Baal at mount Carmel, the Lord sent the rain. You must win some internal battles that strives in your flesh before the rain comes.

The moment you become victorious in that regard, the rain will descend.
Be patient, let your ears be open and see, that your clouds are gathering, it will soon empty itself. Rejoice!

WORD RAIN

"For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it."  - Isaiah 55:10-11

God rains upon every fertile heart that has the seed of His Word, and that it why we understand mysteries and experience rhemas in degrees.

When God sends rain upon your life, will anything bud? Has the Word been planted in your heart or your heart is shallow, what harvest will God gain from you?

The Word that proceeds out of the mouth of God must surely prosper upon the heart that is ready.

A man that appears to be skilled in the Word, is actually experiencing rain from God on the seed.

The rain must surely fall on the seed, that the Sower has planted, but we are the determinant of the harvest that comes from such rain.

"Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock, and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock." - Matt 7:24-25

It is not all rain that is beneficial, as some would cause flooding, and worsen the situation. But the doer of the word of God has nothing to fear.

The Word of God makes us like mount Zion that shall not be moved even though the rain is destructive to some people.

The rain will fertilize the word on your heart, revelations will pour forth - yet the outcome is a matter of the state of your heart.

LATTER RAIN

"For thus says the LORD: 'You shall not see wind, nor shall you see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, so that you, your cattle, and your animals may drink.'" - 2Kings 3:17

There's a rain that the physical eye will not see, not even an idea or sign, yet the product of rain will be seen.
This can only happen to the man of the spirit  - this is the Latter rain.

In the time of drought and emptiness, in the time of famine and starvation where the world will not see rain, yet the righteous' valley will be filled with water.

There appears to be an emptiness of your soul, and you may be in despair out of frustration and failure - ask for the Latter rain to come upon you.

"Be glad then, you children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God; for He has given you the former rain faithfully, and He will cause the rain to come down for you - the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month." - Joel 2:23

God has been faithful with the former rain, and yes He is giving rain - but the Latter rain is another dimension that has never been seen and you should desire it.

We are in the Latter days of the Spirit and only the Latter rain will do. The latter rain that makes champions out of losers and gives provision out of lack.

The Latter rain makes us walk as celestial beings even in the crooked world.

Conclusion: Let your yearning be as the words of this sacred hymn - 'let it come O Lord we pray Thee, let the showers of blessings fall, we are waiting, we are waiting, O revive the hearts of all' -  James L Black (1856-1938)
