STONES

"Jesus said to them, Have you never read in the Scriptures: 'the stone which the builders rejected has become the chief corner stone.
This was the LORD'S doing, and it it is marvelous in our eyes'?" - Matt 21:42

You may have been rejected because of your rough edges and the sharp pains you caused some people. You may have experienced rejection because you aren't made of pearls, emeralds and all the beautiful stone there is.

The stone which was rejected was worthless and despised; yet the LORD knows how to make such stone the chief corner stone.

You who the world has tagged rejected may have also passed through rejected paths and when two worthless stones or rejected people meet, there can only be more bruising.

The story Jesus painted in the parable clearly explains the futile overestimation of things called 'precious'.

The stone which was rejected did not meet the requirement, yet there's a space yet for you to meet. If all the diamonds and precious stones have been highly esteemed, be rest assured that they become worthless too without a pillar to hang them.

It will be the Lord's doing that, you who the world as thought to be of no good, will become all good. It will be the Lord's doing that, the places where you may have been rejected are the places where you will be celebrated.

If you've ever experienced or you're experiencing rejection; please smile, because the Lord is making the heaven to smile at you.

It is a matter of faith and the word that cannot be broken.

HEART OF STONE

"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh." - Ezekiel 36:26

A heart that has never known love, a heart that is devoid of peace and constantly aching is a heart of stone.

You may never have known happiness or you may be full of wicked thought and nothing good seems to flow out of you - you need a heart transplant.

A heart of stone will make the Word of God strange and it will always be dead to the things of the Spirit. It is not your fault that you have turn out so, we were all in such situation. But it's time you get a transplant.

Why must you suffer so long because of a congenital condition? Why must you always suffer rejection because your heart isn't right?
Dear friend, - out of the heart proceeds the issues of life, but what can proceed from a heart of stone, only rejection; but a heart surrendered to Jesus is a heart where issues of life springs from.

"But He answered and said to them, 'I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out.'" - Luke 19:40

If the world would stop, these former heart of stones will scream in praise. Jesus has said that the world will tell some to keep quiet and many will be called fanatics because they cry Hosanna; but stones will never stop praising.

My heart is that rock that wants to cry out, my pastor and the clergies have asked me to stop- yet the once stony heart, will not stop. It is what our hearts are meant for, that is why I had a transplant...this is the reason I am no longer rejected - that I may sing His praise from a heart mended by His love.

The men who walked the road of Emmaus in Luke 24:13-35, couldn't comprehend what was going on in their hearts, but they were sure and very sure that their hearts burned when Jesus spoke to them.

This is how we know that we have had a transplant, and that our hearts of stone is replaced - when we begin to tremble at His Word and when our hearts are convicted by His Word.

As it is written in Prov 23:26, the Lord has asked you to give Him your heart.

LIVING STONE

"you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ." - 1 Pet 2:5

A stone is inanimate and can only be what a builder demands of it; but God has indeed chosen the worthless stone of before and made it living.

It is not just a living stone but a living stone being built up as a spiritual house, a holy priesthood to offer spiritual sacrifices. This rejected stone can now be the container of God. This stone that is rejected is being built as the temple of the Holy Ghost.

We must admire and appreciate the gift of grace at work, which takes a person from nothingness unto the height of greatness. We must remember our lowly state and allow a heart felt gratitude flow for the outcome of what we have become.

"and do not think to say to yourselves, 'we have Abraham as our father.' For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones." - Matt 3:9

By faith we have been raised from stones unto the lineage of Abraham, we have an inheritance of and from Abraham.

You have become one of the stars he tried counting and you have been begotten by him through faith in Jesus.

Maybe you've had experiences that may tend to bring you back to the rejection mode. You must remember that you're now a living stone and no more rejected.

Something dynamic has come out from you and it's still been manifested.

You're no longer the proverbial stone that was rejected but the revelational stone that has the life of Christ.

CRUSHING STONES

"Then he took his staff in his hand; and he chose for himself five smooth stones from the brook, and put them in a shepherd's bag, in a pouch which he had, and his sling was in his hand. And he drew near to the Philistine." - 1 Sam 17:40

Who would have thought that the worthless smooth stones by the brook would have been the weapon to bring down Goliath, men would have passed and drew a few into the brook yet they didn't know that such would be the medium of deliverance for the children of Israel.

When we who have become living stones have an understanding of who we are, we would rise up to become a weapon of destruction in the camp of the enemy.

It may be that something represents Goliath or someone is cursing and defiling the people of God - you must brace up and rise up to the occasion.

We will no longer allow undue and unwarranted harassment of the devil, this is why you have become the living stone - to crush the giant who defiles the army of the living God.

"And whoever falls on this stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder." - Matt 21:44

This rejected stone has become the pillar and a strong one at that - trespassers must beware if not they will be risking themselves greatly.

The people who rejected you before will not be spared if they don't repent or if they try obstructing God's purpose upon your life.

David looking for smooth stones, only shows that we must avail ourselves to the workings of Christ who is the builder before we can be instruments to crush down the enemy.

BEFORE YOU CAST A STONE

"So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, 'He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first'" - John 8:7

Don't be quick to condemnation. You who have become a living stone must show that mercy resides inside of you - just as you are a product of mercy.

We must see the potential of another rejected stone becoming a living stone..and becoming instruments of transformation.

The chief corner stone must surely be accommodating to all other stones and must have enough strength to bear the rough nature of others.

We who are living stones must not be casting stones; because anytime we condemn another, we have become the stone itself.

"And he threw stones at David and at all the servants of King David. And all the people and all the mighty men were on his right hand and on his left." - 2 Sam 16:6

There would definitely be times, when the world would cast stones at us and this surely happens as trials. Jesus also experienced something like that when they wanted to stone Him

At such times, the people who cast such stones may not measure up to us - yet because of circumstances they would cast such stones.

Like Stephen we must recognise their ignorance and seek that the Lord will forgive.
Take the stones that are thrown at you as stepping stones to the next level.

CONCLUSION:
No matter the rejection you have faced, God can still make you great again, just give Him your heart and become that Living stone.
God bless you as you remain God's treasured living stones.
