EMBRACE

"A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing" - Ecc 3:5

It's not everyone we embrace, the people we take within our arms are those who have broken down barriers of hate, jealousy and have known us affectionately.

It is possible to feel the embrace of God over us, it is possible to be warm under the mercy of God. If God does not embrace us at the time we need it; we will never be assured of His love.

Those times when we feel, we are God's top priority, those times when we cannot comprehend His mercy over our lives or when we do not understand, but we know He writes the beautiful story of our lives....those times are the time of His embrace.

It is also important to note that, there would be times when you seem far from God; and nobody's hug will soothe the pain or calm the anxiety. Sometimes, it is the trauma of an awful experience...at such time, it is a time for embrace.

But you also know that, sometimes He refrains from us because of our actions, we become too naughty that He applies the rod; at such a time sin would have separated us from the Father's arm.

I want you to see the need of His embrace, when we are under His shadow - it is an indication of His embrace. He holds us so tight at times we can only cry and mumble words....

MAN'S EMBRACE
"I am distressed for you, my brother Jonathan; you have been very pleasant to me; your love to me was wonderful, surpassing the love of women." - 2 Sam 1:26

David and Jonathan's relationship was so close that they had each others back no matter the condition. They were bosom friends, who relished the embrace of each other.

The only challenge with the embrace of man no matter how close, is that it doesn't last forever - while these two people would give themselves wholly for the other, there came a point when one was left in the cold.

There are people we sure love with all our heart, the embrace we share depends on if it's a love affair, a fatherly pally or friendship. But what happens when circumstances change and the uneventful happens.

Some of us have lost a relationship we felt was heaven on earth, we felt so secured being clasped around our father's arm...yet we outgrow or life happens.

The embrace we share is beyond a 2 seconds hug out of excitement, but the significance of what that individual represents to us.

"Therefore his servants said to him, 'let a young woman, a virgin be sought for our lord the king, and let her lie in your bosom, that our lord the king may be warm.'" - 1 Kings 1:2

The old king David needed someone in his arms, yet it was David who left the young girl in the cold after his death. She represented companionship of old age to the king as David never slept with her...but just as she was growing to loving the old man. He died at the prime of her life.

She became a second-hand, though she remained a virgin, she was not allowed under the arms of anyone again. The Shunammite Abishag, who gave her youth to an old man was left alone.

The embrace we share with some people mean a lot to them, yet we can't help but refrain sometimes because of circumstances.

The embrace of man is suspect to heartbreak and disappointment. We can't guarantee its certainty and we can't hope for it more than in this life.

EMBRACE OF DECEIT
"Then Joab said to Amasa, 'are you in health, my brother?' And Joab took Amasa by the beard with his right hand to kiss him. But Amasa did not notice the sword that was in Joab's hand. And he struck him with it in the stomach, and his entrails poured out on the ground..." - 2 Sam 20:10

It is not everyone who we embrace that has good intentions towards us. As we walk the earth, let us be assured that there are swords underneath the garments of men whom we embrace.

One may not know for sure the heart of man and one can not begin to suspect everyone, yet we must at different times appraise the relationships we keep.

Don't be fooled by the smile on their faces, you need discernment by the Holy Spirit to recognise deceit.

A man's enemy will be members of his household, but if the Lord does not help you discern by the Holy Spirit, we would be taking a risk.

Is your heart pure towards that person that trust you? Are you sure your smile isn't deceptive or what are you planning to do.
Brother, just yesterday a lady assumed you still have good intentions, yet you will call it off today...that's a sword underneath the garments.

"But Jesus said to him, 'Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?'" - Luke 22:48

You can swear you love God yet it is in that act of 'love' that you have betrayed Him. You deceive people by calling on God's name, you have used your office in the church to siphon funds...yet you say you're serving a God you love - that's a kiss of betrayal.

When our mouths sound love in the church, yet blaspheme His name behind His enemies..we have betrayed our Lord with a kiss of deceit.

If the Lord depends on our embrace, we would be worse than Judas, we would sell Him to the world and expose Him to dark nights in the cold.

Brethren, how pure is your embrace to your fellows much less to God? Will Jesus be warm under your embrace or shiver in the deceit that oozes out of you.

AN EMBRACE OF MERCY
"And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him." - Luke 15:20

A little child's hands will never reach or carry his father's hands, but down there afar off, if God's sees a little child stretch out his hands to be carried, God will embrace such child.

Why stay out in the cold, why have you allowed the harsh weather batter you too long, all you need do is to remember the embrace of His mercy and move in His direction - while you are still afar off, the Lord wants to embrace you.

It may be that you have been betrayed or abandoned by someone in your bosom before now and you are left shattered and heartbroken. There is enough to cushion the effect in the embrace of the Lord.

It doesn't matter how stained that guy was from the pig's farm, yet God will embrace such a one. He will still embrace you. An embrace of the Father is a change of the filthy clothes of sin and shame.

"All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out." - John 6:37

He will not reject you; it is in His embrace that we find security from the avenger, we can be calm under His shadow.

If the Lord sees you coming, He will rum towards you with open arms and show you mercy. Though your embrace wasn't good enough, yet He wouldn't stop embracing you. His arms are wide enough to take multitudes back to Himself.

MY CRY
Lord, I've sunk too deep in the miry clay of vanity, my soul is void in itself, though I wronged yet I need to abide in Your mercy.

You and I need the embrace of the Father.
God bless you and I love you.
