GOD CANNOT LIE!
"God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged" - Heb 6:18
We know God to be righteous and true and we know Him to be true to His word; these are true attributes of God that cannot be faulted at anytime. But to state or emphasize here that 'God cannot lie' is borne out of certain conditions of the earth today.
When a promise is delayed we may not say it, but we may feel God has not been true to His promise, we have therefore implied that He lied. There are times when everything will seem contrary to what He has said, but does this make God a liar? Why does He keep dashing hopes as some would say and imply He has lied.
Certain people have lost hope, certain people have stopped declaring the promises, some have started to live life anyhow - saying that God is not dependable; yet it is them who have not been true! They have breeched the terms of covenant and expect that certain benefits should still stand - O no, He won't compromise His principles to prove a point, as that in itself is the lie. Anything He says must not contradict His nature for righteousness, anything He says must be valid and in agreement to His principles... Whatever causes a variation will be a lie...so we as mortals, must understand that certain conditions makes a covenant true, else we are the liars and He will remain true to His nature.
Everyday man is on the verge of proving God to be a liar, we want to prove to the Lord, that when He said fornication is bad He didn't consider our emotions, we want to prove that when He says He is coming back it is not true, since we have been waiting and will still have to wait. I do not intend to hold brief for God on this matter, as I am too small for that, but I am just writing this out of awesome conviction of the TRUENESS of God - O Faithfull and True is He.
WE MAKE HIM A LAIR
"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us." - 1John 1:8-9
I am most times taken aback to the height of denial that is in the body of Christ today, many in the face of plain convictions are not pricked to heart to repent or reconsider - they keep a straight face as if the Word for repentance isn't referring to them. They want to be caught red-handed before they admit their wrong doing.
Many have put on a thick skin that will lead them to destruction, they depend on their conscience that is already dead to justify themselves and say they have not sinned. No one is asking you to condemn yourself, but a confession and seeking of forgiveness will do quite well.
In our time, the pastor is the liar, he didn't see you so how did he know you just stole, you are angry at the pastor and saying he is making you feel like a sinner, when a simple confession would have given you succor. Let us not deceive ourselves, we can not be successful on this quest of making God a liar, He cannot accuse someone who is innocent, He cannot convict you of what you have not done. Let us begin to be true to ourselves.
"Then the LORD said to Cain, 'Where is Abel your brother?' He said, 'I do not know. Am I my brother's keeper?'" - Gen 4:9
If God had not talked about the evidence of Abel's blood crying, he wouldn't have admitted wrong, he would argue and say he never did anything. And you O man in the church, you continue to act like all is well and continue to be a worker hiding under false grace and not repenting... God cannot lie, you are guilty of sin!
We often are rude with even conviction, do we honestly think that God will bring a false charge against us, and why do we always hold on to denials instead of just confessing and moving on. We are often sorry because we got caught and not really because we are sorry.
It is impossible for God to lie, and it is impossible for you to prove otherwise when God has found you guilty, except you admit and make amends. He cannot lie. I agree that we have been made righteous through Christ, but that does not make us infallible, that does not make us totally free from faults. Confessing 'I am righteousness' is not the cure for a sinner. You must be sorry.
WE LIE IN HIS NAME
"I have heard what the prophets have said who prophesy lies in My name, saying, 'I have dreamed, I have dreamed!'" - Jer 23:25
Sometimes, I just get scared when I hear some people say, 'thus says the Lord' - dear pastor, because of 'seed' you have changed the message, because of 'offering' you have exaggerated the whole thing - all because you have the name of God at your disposal. We swear in His name, even when we know it is false...God is against these set of people.
I have seen where undiscerning members are swindled because of pastor's 'anointing' and their ignorance. The devil is your father, yes because he is the father of all liars. Brothers are committing immorality and yet they are calling on the name of the Lord. Some of them just live a lie in its entirety and we are just left confused.
We know it is a lie because it is contrary to His word, we have seen it is a lie because your life is not right, we know it is a lie because our spirit does not bear witness, O we know it is a lie because you always struggle to make it true.
"The LORD said to him, 'In what way?' So he said, 'I will go out and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.' And the LORD said, 'You shall persuade him, and also prevail. Go out and do so'" - 1Kings 22:23
Because that sister is covetous, she was unable to discern that it was a lie when the brother said 'God said you are my wife'. If there is any time we need the spirit of discernment in the Christain body, it is now. Many are coming in His name and we don't know they have been possessed with a lying spirit.
We no longer recognise the sanctity of the name, we are not bothered when we call the name in vain, we are carefree of the importance of the name - we say we are CHRISTians but you know that is a lie..
WE LIE TO HIM
"But Peter said, 'Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself?'" - Acts 5:3
One of the greatest harm that man can do to himself is that of self-deceit, but man has taken it a little farther than that, we have started trying to impress God falsely. We look at God straight in His glory and say I have given you my all. We boldly profess that God is our all, even when we know that to be false.
I have seen in certain places when hypocrisy rules, people come to church and give testimonies of lies...they are not pricked in their conscience, we see where people give an exaggerated impression of themselves. The Lord is the Spirit of truth. Those who worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in truth. Let us stop thinking we can give false impression.
You come to church and make a vow that is beyond your means, don't you know that God is not interested in fools? God knows your purse even before He asked you to give...so when they started asking for people to redeem their pledge you stopped going to church. That's hypocrisy.
"The LORD is near near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth." - Psalm 145:18
Stop telling God everything is fine...you cannot form for God, He knows you.. If you have a weakness, tell it to God as it is, you need His help, don't tell Him it is well - no! Tell Him you need help. I am not against confession of faith, but as regards the One who will help, we must tell Him as it is and as we are.
No one can get truth to set free when he lie. It is in telling of truth that we encounter the truth to set us free. Anyone who lies to the fountain of truth we never flow with Him. If you don't trust God with confidential matters, who can you trust? Stop lying, He knows you are telling a lie.
You can't give Him false impression either.
HE IS NOT A MAN
"God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?" - Num 23:19
Maybe you're at the verge of giving up and thinking there's no point taking Him by His Word - listen God is not a man. When He says He is not a man, that means it is not in His nature - even if He tries, He cannot. He is truth and righteousness.
He said He is coming back and you have thought it as a lie, if He hasn't failed in anything He promised before, why should you doubt His second coming. When will you start to have the blessed hope of His coming. Even Christians deeply doubt His coming. I believe He is coming and that keeps me more in fellowship.
O, maybe the prophecy is yet to happen, and you think you will never marry, you think you have been excluded from the league of mothers because, it's your fifth year in marriage...hello God cannot lie..man can. Nothing can be truer if we trust.
"And he believed in the LORD, and He accounted it to him for righteousness." - Gen 15:6
Hope keeps faith alive, hope is the platform where faith lies, while hope is for tomorrow, faith is for now. Have you stopped believing? Maybe you are even tired of hearing the promises and only utter a casual amen. He makes all things beautiful in its time.
Why did you stop believing? Why did you stop hoping? Don't for a second think that God is slack concerning His promises - in fact His Words and His promises are settled - your belief puts a seal on it and that surely compels God to action.
I see God working in your case, I see God doing something by His mighty acts that would seem like a lie to you. I see God bringing His promise to pass, but when the promise pass, where is your faith to receive it?
CONCLUSION: Admit your wrong and repent, stop lying in His name and you cant even lie to Him successfully. GOD CANNOT LIE!
God bless you and I love you
