WORTHY IS THE LAMB
"saying with a loud voice: 'Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honour and glory and blessing!'" - Rev 5:12
He paid the price of sin with His blood, He became a Lamb. Without the shedding of blood, there can be no remission of sin - Jesus shed His blood - He became a Lamb. So mighty yet so lowly, so pure yet laid His life down for the sins of men. Glorious in majesty, He took the appellation of Lamb.
What the blood of rams and bulls could not do, this King who was without stain or blemish did. The guilt the world was perpetually doomed to bear, was taken away by a King, He came to pay the price. His blood was the atonement for the human race.
I find no one so worthy to adore, I find no being that can measure up to the height, I missed the good intentions of mortals, but only to cast down crowns and worship that King of the universe who became the sacrificial Lamb of God. This Lamb understood the purpose of His coming, He accepted to be subject to men's ridicule, He came and in agony to lift the burdens of men.
Worthy is the Lamb.
From the highest roof, the world should sing worthy,
From the tongues of babes, the earth should rejoice in worship to the Lamb who was slain. He was slain for me, He was slain for you - He was slain for the unborn, He was slain for the lost, His blood continues to speak for the human race. - worthy is the Lamb.
THE LORD WILL PROVIDE
"And Abraham said, 'My son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering.' So the two of them went together." - Gen 22:8
The Lord Himself is the One that will make the provision for mankind, the Lord Himself will give us that which will hand us everlasting joy. The Lord Himself knows when to provide the Lamb - and yes the Lord has given us the Lamb Jesus. At the time it pleased the father, He gave us the Lamb - He was without blemish, He was spotless, He was the most priced asset of the Father - yet the Lord provided Him.
Isaac was not the sacrifice, since he was conceived in sin - he couldn't have been the one - the Lord Himself will provide. The most loved as Jesus, yet Isaac wasn't qualified. The son of promise yet wasn't the one to be used. He was begotten through faith, but Isaac wasn't all pure because he descended from the first Adam.
And while the Lord showed us of that which is to be for mankind, the story of Abraham and Isaac clearly shows us that it wasn't an easy thing for the Father to give His only begotten Jesus.
"The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, 'Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!'" - John 1:29
He has been unveiled, Jesus is the only One that has the capacity to take away the sins of the world. A lamb for each house was the ordinance, to atone for each family - yet it was not sufficient since it was the blood of a lamb. But this Lamb has the capacity to atone for the sins of the world. The blood is potent to erase the past of the world.
Behold the Lamb that was provided by the father and live. Behold the Lamb of God and receive of His grace. It is through faith in Him that the Lamb will avail for us, why not believe in the Lamb of God. No One could have provided, no man born of a woman could have been a substitute - except this Lamb who was provided for by the Lord.
The Lamb of God is not racial based, it is not gender selective..if anyone will behold Him in faith - their sins are taken away. It doesn't matter what a person did in the past, if such a one can use a lamb..such sin will be atoned for. The lamb of God also does not consider the weight of past sins, the blood just speaks for anyone who needs it to work.
I LAY IT DOWN BY MYSELF
"No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father." - John 10:18
Unlike that ram that was caught in the thicket, who couldn't escape the grip of Abraham - Jesus laid His life by His own will. He wasn't forced, He was just compelled by love for mankind. No one would have been able to hold Him if He had resisted the arrest that day at Gethsemane.
While Peter would have put up a good fight to keep this Lamb from the slaughter, He Himself decided to lay it all down. He had settled it with His Father on His knees - He decided to be the price for us. The legions from heaven would have killed all who came - but one of the things that made Him worthy was because - love did it!
This Lamb shed His blood to an undeserving world, many who rejected Him, yet this our worthy Lamb never stopped the plan of our redemption. This Lamb reconciled us to the Father, this Lamb tore the veil, this Lamb made us co-heir with Him. This Lamb restored the dignity of mankind. This Lamb is worthy!
"He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so He opened not His mouth." - Isaiah 53:7
They found no fault in Him, yet He was bruised for our iniquity, He answered them not a word and mortal men spat on Him - Most blessed Lamb of God didn't change His nature as a gentle Lamb, He remained so even unto the slaughter of the cross.
They scorned and said He was powerless, yet the Lamb did not come down from the cross...He was too powerful to prove anything to mere men, whose hearts were hardened. It was for this same people that dealt with Him that He became a Lamb. He said 'forgive them' and that was what an atonement of sacrifice was meant for..to earn us forgiveness.
Having power and yet keeping it under control in that agony can only be something called love. In that agony He paid the price, in that agony He committed His Spirit to God. And in that agony we were purchased by His blood.
NO OTHER SACRIFICE
"For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified." - Heb 10:14
That singular price was all that was needed and still needed till date. The price paid on Calvary is the sacrifice that didn't need to be repeated year in year out. The guilt was taken away once and for all. Man became close to God and our lawlessness the Lord will remember no more.
How I worship the Lamb knowing that He did it once and for all, how I call Him 'worthy' since I do not feel the burden of sin. How I look to the Lamb in adoration since i feel His forgiveness.
The Lamb who was slain cannot be slain again. The person who rejects the sacrifice is doomed, the one who thinks works and efforts only can bring a reconciliation, will work in vain. What He has done once He has done forever.
"For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins" - Heb 10:26
The reason He is the only Lamb worthy is because there can be no one better, there can be nothing to atone for our sins anymore than that. We must therefore not willfully sin. He is the one who needed to be slain for our so needed redemption.
CONFESSION: O Lamb of God, may Your work be perfect in me, I believe that You alone art worthy to receive glory and honour - You earned it with that sacrifice. You are indeed the One who takes away the sins of the world.
You are worthy, O Lamb of God.
God bless you and I love you
